Dr. Joseph Thomas Zibrida, MD

Great doctor.

I'm a type 1 Diabetic (for 26 years) & Dr Z has been my Dr for most of my adult life. Personally, I feel like a PCP (especially when someone has an illness, such as myself) should be someone I can call, that knows my situation and guide me. Unfortunately this is not so for this office. The receptionist is rude 100% of the time and you are lucky if she forwards your messages to the dr. Not to mention, you're really hitting the lottery if you actually call and the Dr is in the office! Completely unacceptable in my book! I WILL BE SWITCHING AS SOON AS I CAN!

It seems today that Dr.'s want thier patients to come to them when they only have one thing wrong with them. More than that seems to be to difficult to handle. I hate the statement more and more are useing these days! "If you could pick one thing that's bothering you the most, what would it be?" If you are like me, you usually go into the office with several issues happening at once, hence why I've grow to dislike this queations so much. Sometimes the variety of ailments alone can tell the doctor what's going on with you, so how can only one problem be addressed at a time. It didn't use to be this way with Dr.Zibrida, but sadley it is now.When you have several chronic illnesses, I feel, you need a doctor who looks at the whole picture not just one tiny speck of it.With me anyway, this is how it's become. I have to ask for certain test to be run when I think it's so clearly the next step. And when I have requested certain test be done and he does do them, they are always very pertinent… to what is going on with me at the time. I didn't go to Med school,(even though I have a good working knowledge of my body and medicine),but I am tired of being both the patient, doctor, and secretary! He has a very caring and warm personality, and yes I know my state is challenging, but more attention is certainly needed and desired from this doctor. Don't you just hate walking out of the doctors office feeling like," why did I even go or, that was a waste of time, he didn't even address all my concerns!" I guess it's that time again!!! There are lots of doctors out there, but there is only one of me! And no one knows me better than I do! Does anyonme know of a doctor that thrives on complicated cases? ( Other than Dr. House on the TV show?) LOL
