Dr. Joyce A Williams, DO

I have been going to her office for several years, she is prompt, very professional, caring and on top of everything, also her staff is great from the office to the nurses.will recommend her to family and friends.

I'm unfortunate to have Dr. Williams as my doctor. Every appointment is the same, regardless of why I'm there. She interupts everything said, never spends more than 5 minutes in the room, and has one leg out the door before she even walks in. I was referred back to her by my oncologist since diagnosed with breast cancer. I have been in extreme pain dealing with cancer and an immunological disorder. Dr. (Ha) Williams had no clue why I was there, though most people with common sense recognize a chemo patient, and a decent doctor glances at an established patient's records, and the reason for the visit.The same 2 minute physical was done, the same labs ordered, and she ran out of the office like always. Again because of this doctor, I walked out of the office crying and feeling sicker than I walked in. Doctors that have knowledge of their profession, but lack bed side manner, is inevitable and sometimes preferred, but Dr. Williams has neither. I wouldn't recommend her to a stray arthritic… dog.

Terrible always late by an hour and spend 5 minutes with me not listening poor was excited to get in to find out whats wrong

I was sent there to treat and diagnose lupus. This doctor is walking out as she’s walking in. To this day I have No idea what is wrong with me. Going to Cleveland Clinic..... had enough. Poor patient/doctor repor. Sad.....

Dr. Williams is a very caring doctor. She answered all of my questions. She has a warm personality and you can relate to her immediately.

My experience with Dr. Williams was very positive. She had reviewed my case thoroughly and had been in contact with my primary care physician which made for a smooth, informative appointment. She spent a lot of time with me and took the time to answer any and all questions I had. At the end of the appointment, she asked if we had any further questions. I was very satisfied and would recommend her to anyone I know.

I had been a patient of Dr. Joyce Williams for years who inexplicably dropped me from her practice after she and I specially made special arrangements considering my extremely limited availability and the fact that I have a special needs child. In addition to echoing the reviews I've seen regarding her poor beside manner I firmly believe she discriminated against me for the fact that I had to bring my special needs child to some of my appointments as a sitter for him was not available. I wrote her a very personal letter apologizing for having to cancel some of my appointments and she did not even have the decency to speak with me and instead cowered behind her staff. I've never experienced such a poor level of compassion from a health care provider and am weighing my options of pursuing a discrimination case against her and her practice. Avoid at all costs.

First visits were fine but as time went on, she became rude at times, insisted I have an office visit every three months when I had no symptom or problems. She would come in, look at my hands, ask me how I was doing and leave. I timed her at my final visit and she spend 92 seconds with me. She usually could no answer my questions and at times gave me information that I know was incorrect. I found a wonderful rheumatologist in Akron who spends time with her patients and answers all questions. What a difference.

After spending a week in the hospital my mom was released with what was believed to be an autoimmune brain disease. She'd had some fairly severe memory loss, lost most of the strength in her hands and was having trouble walking. After finally being released Dr Williams was the first rheumatologist we could get in to. The front office staff was friendly as were the nurses we came in to contact with. However when Dr Williams came in to the room it was clear she had not read over the chart or any of the information at all. She asked a few very basic questions, did a routine physical exam and then sat with a very large stack of test results and went through them while we sat in the office with her. She never once discussed the memory loss and was gave no input when it was brought up. She gave us no insight on what to do moving forward and even told us that if the 2 blood tests came back clear for lupus we did not need to come back. When asked about the steroids that she was put on in… order to leave the hospital, she refused to even discuss getting her off of them. I have never been more disappointed in the care of a physician. We have since moved my mom to a Dr at OSU and are extremely happy with her care. It's unfortunate that we have to drive 2 hours away in order to get proper care and compassion.

If a Dr. appt can be enjoyable - this was it. Everyone was very nice, assuring, respectful and knowledgeable. Dr. Williams was very willing to listen and explain everything to make sure I understood.
