Dr. Justina May Deitz, DO

I have tried to get a follow-up of my tests from doctor Deitz or the nurse practitioner. I called 3 times and was told that someone would get back to me. And still NOTHING! I would guess that I wasted my valuable time with this visit as I can't get a follow-up appointment until July?? Or wait for a cancellation. Really?? My review: Good doctor, horrible policies and staff.

I was a patient of Justina Dietz for a little over a year and a half. She spends as little time as possible with her patients, has an attitude, and talks down to her patients. Her lack of empathy is astounding. Dietz put me on a medication regiment as well that led me to be at risk for a potassium deficiency. She is the least thorough, rushed doctor I have ever encountered. If you see her for any type of hormonal disorder, such as PCOS, I would highly advise against it. Her only solution is birth control, and she was the least supportive when trying to discuss alternative methods. She is condesending and rude. Never again. Worst bedside manner, ever.

My adult daughter and I have been patients of Dr. Dietz’s for several years. We will be finding a new doctor. My daughter had a questionable ultrasound and was sent for a biopsy at Englewood Hospital. The pathologist at the hospital immediately recommended a second biopsy of her thyroid to be sent for further testing at a separate lab. My daughter called Dr. Dietz for three days hoping to speak with her for clarification about the reason for the second biopsy. Only after I called her office and said we would be canceling the second test, did Dr. Dietz finally return my daughter’s call. She did not have a voice to voice, she left a voicemail saying that my daughter might have a malignancy. We researched the number one doctor for thyroid cancer. He had been head of thyroid cancer at MD Andersen. He returned our call and spent 45 minutes on the phone with us on a Saturday night. The report by the outside lab was sent to Dr Dietz yesterday. No call. No surprise. My daughter just… received a notice of no malignancy to her email. We would NEVER recommend Dr. Dietz. Very bad communication skills. Lack of compassion and care. She is very pleasant and wants to know how I am and why I can't get my A1C where is needs to be. She takes her time and listens which is great.

I first saw Dr. Deitz based on a friends recommendation, and I certainly was not disappointed. I was very surprised to see the amount of time she spent with me (I was at my wits end with Endo's and their TSH only obsession) I continued to follow her to the Emerson practice, but had several issues with the front desk faxing paperwork and I eventually lost my insurance and could not go back... I have yet to find an Endo who looked at my symptoms since, not just my numbers, so I will be returning humbly back to the office and bringing my daughter who seems to have the same issues as I have and hopefully she won't suffer as many years as I did listening to Drs. who look at "normal range" only and tell you that your fine..there are so many things that can go wrong with the thyroid, and its not a quick fix, the key to a good Endo is to find one that listens and switches/adjusts meds if necessary (not every med works for everyone, I was feeling horrible on Synthroid!) Dr. Deitz stands out… from the rest, highly recommended

Dr D is amazing she saved my life. I was so lucky to found her. I was misdiagnosed with a hormone and Thyroid condition for 20 years and suffered in silence after being told by several other physicians it was in my head. Dr D has always been compassionate, knowledgable, professional and always saw to my needs. She diagnosed my problem put me on medication and gave me so much support. Thanks to her I am a new person. She is truly a life saver.

She is the first internist that LISTENED to me she heard me she helped....the 4 men I had been to prior did nothing.
