Dr. Keith Hyong Chu, MD

Not the best option. My wife was a patient of his. We no longer want to use him as a Cardiologist and lost all faith in him operating. He would accuse her of taking medication she was not taking. He would suggest one procedure and make plans to move forward. Only for a few days later to cancel it and say let's monitor and see what happens because things weren't as bad. The mixed messages. The accusations of taking medications and us thinking he might make decisions off of his false assumptions. After wasting several months of our time, where my wife could be further along with her care and recovery using another, more capable doctor, we lost all hope and faith in Dr. Chu. To the point where I told my wife if she was on his operating table and something happened, I would have a hard time believing he did everything he could to prevent that from happening. I would advise anyone and everyone to stay as far away from Dr. Chu as possible. If you value your health and life.

Stay clear of this guy. I went to see him with a mild case of atrial fibrillation (afib.) He started by scaring me saying that I was high risk for stroke or blood clot. He wanted to schedule me for a nuclear stress test a very hi tech and expensive search for hidden clots. This was to be followed up with a consultation with him and two other doctors to discuss my case. After this I was to be hospitalized for three days for further tests. I practically ran out of his office. A got a second opinion from another practice. This cardiologist recommended that I have an outpatient cardio conversion to get my heart back in rhythm. I had the successful conversion and am on a blood thinner and feeling fine. I can’t believe what this doctor was going to put me through

I have a history of cardiac issues with surgeries and a strong family history of members who have died of heart conditions. I had an abnormal EKG with chest pain after an ER visit. Dr. Chu jabbed me in the chest with his finger as if I were a bad child and diagnosed me with muscle pain. Did not order any tests until I requested them. Suggested 800mg 3x per day for 30 days to permanently cure my pain. Then he asked if I will do that after I mentioned my concerns of stomach issues with that much ibuprofen and he told me if I won't do it than I can leave and that I dont have heart issues. He put his hand over the abnormal EKG and said that doesn't mean anything and presumed to ignore my questions. I will be seeing someone else for proper care and diagnosis.

Very professional staff and office appointments run smoothly. Dr. Chu is welcoming and easy to talk to, explaining thing fully without being rushed.

In 2000, Dr Chu noticed a slight irregularity during a stress test, emediatly scheduled me for a catherization, found one artery 95 percent blocked and 3 others partially blocked, they inserted a stent and I have been trouble free fo 18 years. During that time And per Dr Chu's direction, I have had regular checkups, changed my diet, been exercising. I can not speak for the negative comments that I have seen but neither my wife (who Dr Chu has treated) nor I have had nothing but great treatment by Dr Chu and his staff. Now if you are adverse to hearing a frank and direct assessment of your condition you may want to go to a lesser qualified doctor, your call.

Both my late husband & I were "attended" by Dr. Chu. It took him 24 hrs to visit my husband after he collapsed in PW Hosp cafeteria. He informed us Don needed a pacemaker, and prior to surg would need platelet transfusion, but neglected to order same necessitating 2 day delay. Told not to worry about a fib "lots of people walking around with it". I got steadily worse after initial visit, having episodes every 3 months. On one occasion had to be shocked into normal rhythm by ER MD after no doctors showed up for 8 hrs nor was I contacted afterwards as to my wellbeing. Found another cardiologist who regulated me.

Rudest people i have ever met in my life

Very rude , appears not to like people of color. Spoke in tongue . Was not consistence with what he said to me . Waited in exam room for 75 minutes for him . no apology for time . I will not recommend this man to any one that is human.
