Dr. Kenneth Wayne Blumenthal, DO

I have suffered from allergies and asthma for many years I only scheduled with him cause the doctor I had seen was gone and I needed my inhaler the tech that did my breathing test was polite The doctor first sent his nurse practitioner in who was very rude and instead of looking at the issue started to question other issues she thought I had Then she went to get the doctor who was very condescending to me and said my breathing was the same has the last visit well if he would of actually looked in my file he would of seen I was sick at the last visit also then he said he didn't think I had asthma and I said two doctors have already diagnosed me!!! Do not go see this doctor

I saw Dr. Blumenthal originally for allergy testing. That part was fine, and he recommended a change in my OTC allergy meds that did help. However, I asked for a refill of an albuterol inhaler that had been previously prescribed for "exercise induced bronchospasms." He refused, said it wasn't asthma, and sent me to a speech pathologist for breathing exercises. The speech pathologist said it sounded like I had a touch of asthma, but since Dr. B dismissed that completely I didn't follow up at the time. I finally got a second opinion and had a pulmonary function test done for clarity on my breathing problems - and sure enough it's asthma! I had a 20% improvement with an albuterol nebulizer, the same drug he refused to prescribe. The diagnostic standard is that 12% indicates reversible reactive airway disease, which is asthma. I wish I had been tested properly years ago because I've been just dealing with it for the past five years. So, if you go for asthma testing and he says… you don't have it - don't wait to get a second opinion!

Dr. Blumenthal is very personable and is very thorough with anyone that has asthma or allergy problems. I have been going to him for 10 years. I highly recommend him to everyone.

We had been having problems with our sons health for a while we finally decided maybe his issues where due to allergies so we made an appointment with Dr. Blumenthal, upon entering the room Dr Blumenthal looked at our son and said we have to fix his asthma before checking for allergies, we had no idea he had asthma. ... within 3 months our son looked so much better and was healthier, he hasn't had any illnesses in the past 2 years, he is finally growing as well. . We love Dr Blumenthal we truly believe he has improved our sons quality of life! Absolutely would recommend him to anyone that feels their child has asthma or allergies

I have been a pt of Dr, B for over 30yrs. First as my GP, then when I started havin breathing trouble my Asthma dr. He has always been concerned about my condition & his staff always get me in when I start having problems. I would & have recommended him to people.

I was very impressed by the way Dr.Blumenthal was able to read me and understand how I was feeling. After fighting headaches for 30 years he has helped me understand that taking excedrine and pain meds were actually causing me to get headaches more often than none.I feel great now.I have gone to several doctors that have sent me for CAT scans to taking several differant medications,ultimately getting hooked on stuff that made me feel worse.sometimes taking 20 tablets a day.

i wasn't happy with the wait but was very impressed with dr. blumenthal's professionalism, kindness and personal attention. he was patient while i talked in depth about my allergy history and took notes on his laptop that seemed to be verbatim! i have never seen a doctor take such complete notes during an intake. i was in his office a few times after that for tests, diagnosis/treatment plan and follow up. he and his staff treated me like i had been a long-time patient and seemed to know my file well. i definitely recommend him.

After waiting for over 45 minutes he spent less than 5 with me. Very poor bedside manner he seemed disinterested and did not listen to me! He didn't ask me any questions related to my diagnosis and to top it off he tried to prescribe me an allergy medicine that gives me migraines--the whole reason I was coming to see him was to get off the medicine or try another one. All of this info was in the chart that his nurse made on me and I had told him that at my consultation appointment!
