Dr. Kevin Wayne Baszis, MD

Long story short, we waited in the waiting room over an hour so I went up to the desk to inquire (because there was a sign saying to do so if you have been waiting for more than an hour). After some time we were brought back to the room and waiting almost another hour when the PA finally came in a asked some questions. She said the Dr. would be in shortly. After almost 45 minutes, I went out to ask when the doctor would be in and the PA looked surprised and said she had thought that he had already been in to see my daughter. After waiting another 20 minutes, Dr. Baszis came in, asked all of the same questions the PA already asked and did a very brief exam (e.g. does this hurt?...). Despite my daughter's history of various joint issues and her extreme pain and swelling in the knees, he (after a 5 minute consultation with an extremely shy child) concluded that there were no autoimmune issues at hand and that xrays and bloodwork were not necessary because they were not good indicators.… So, after 3 hours of waiting for a 5 minute visit (and a $400 bill!) we had no answers to my daughter's pain. I did take her to a physical therapist for her knee pain as was recommended and the PT was very surprised that Dr. Baszis was not more concerned about the "extreme extent of pain and swelling". Now, I am out $400 and need to get a second opinion.
