Thank God for Dr Fricka. He is professional, competent and really good at what he does. I had a total hip replacement. I am 75 years old and I am telling you this is the best Orthopedic Surgeon I have ever been to. My scar is a simple pencil line. My recovery was easy and quick. The Anderson Clinic’s policy of sending a physical therapist and visiting nurse to your home was God sent. Contact after surgery was daily through an on-line app. Quick and efficient with answers to questions almost immediately. I would recommend him to everyone and I do.

I knew Dr. Fricka by reputation in Northern Virginia area before moving away. So when I knew I had to have a knee replacement done, I hoped he would be in my network to have him do my surgery. What a pleasant surprise to find my out of state insurance (not Medicare) was in network with him. He spent a lot of time with me at first appointment because he felt I was a candidate for either a partial or total knee replacement depending on my expectations after surgery. (Most candidates really don't have either option.) I did not feel rushed in really learning about the differences of the two and we came together on the decision to have the total knee replacement. My surgery got delayed a few months because of Covid-19 (his hospital suspended ALL elective surgeries, it was not cancelled by him or his staff), but notified me IMMEDIATELY to reschedule it when he could begin operating again. I had a post-operative plan to stay for 2 weeks with a friend and begin my rehab process in… Virginia. Follow up appointments were made for me before I left to come home. But by the time I came home to my house alone, I was walking totally independently without a walker and only using a cane for steps and stairs. From the first visit with x-rays and consultation, I was extremely impressed with his entire staff of front office, X-ray techs, nurses, surgery coordinator and his PAs. It was a well oiled machine with some of the MOST pleasant staff across the board I have ever worked with. I'm in the medical field myself, so had 6 weeks recovery time before I needed to go back to work myself. He had me begin "pre-hab" 3 months before surgery, getting my knee and leg stronger going INTO surgery, which made my recovery a piece of cake, post-operatively. He has a cell phone app that checks in every day, to assess for fevers, complications and tracks knee pain and PT progress. It also has exercises with video demonstration to complete every day, outside of your out-patient PT. I have recommended others to him in the past for hip and knee surgeries and all continue to thank me for the referral. He truly is that life changing. Would not even consider ANYONE else to do my surgery.

From the very first consultation and throughout the entire surgical / recovery period, Dr. Fricka and his superior team do everything humanly possible to ensure your success. I honestly can speak from experience as Dr. Kevin has now performed a partial knee replacement on both of my knees. The results are beyond outstanding, and even more so the recovery period. My most recent procedure was performed as outpatient surgery and I was literally back on my feet the same day. By day 3, I was back to work and by day 21 (just 3 weeks after surgery) I was being discharged from PT. I just had my 4 week follow-up and was cleared to return to all activities without restrictions - including swimming and golfing. If you are needing a partial (or full) knee replacement or even if you just need a consultation, Dr. Kevin Fricka and his team are who you need to see. There is no-one… better and who cares more about your return to a successful pain free lifestyle.

Dr. Fricka is the surgeon you want to see for a partial knee replacement. The office is extremely organized (never had to wait more than 5 minutes to be seen in his office) and have never encountered a surgeon and office staff that personally respond to you within minutes. He will contact you personally to address and alleviate any concerns you have. I highly recommend!!!

Fantastic from start to finish. Gave me confidence... had partial knee replacement with superb results. If my other knee goes b/c if arthritis I would.not hesitate to get it replaced. Offices great, fellows great Doc great. Cannot day enough. I now live in 3 rd floor apt with no prob. Walking 3-4 miles at a time.

The one item I would suggest for this procedure is that the Dr or a qualified assistant put eyes on the patient and surgical area within 2 weeks after surgery . They are much more qualified than the patient to assess the recovery.

Dr Fricka is very personable and responsive to questions. Friendly office staff. Taffney the nurse is wonderful too. Great experience and great outcome!

A great team. Dr Fricka is a good doctor. He takes as much time as you need to explain your diagnosis and treatment plan options. He responds daily to emails and is genuinely concerned about recovery. The pain management aspect of the team is tremendous. His nurse is very helpful and responsive. All in all the overall experience was much better than I had anticipated which I attribute to the care and follow up of this surgeon.
