Dr. Kevin John Mickey, MD

Dr. Mickey has absolutely no bedside manner when it comes to children. My son is skiddish about his eyes and Dr. Mickey was forceful and impatient. Rather than explain to my son "now we'll do this, then this will happen" he immediately tried to put fluorescein without patiently explaining what's to come first. My son was crying and uncomfortable and Dr. Mickey had no patience, tried to forcefully hold my son's hands down through the cries. It was a terrible experience to say the least. Following the procedure, my son FAINTED by the elevators and I screamed like a lunatic for help. (He fell face down and we spent the rest of the day in PM Pediatrics and the dentist. He was a bloody mess. It was very scary!!) When some staff came out, someone said "oh yes, this reaction happens" and when I asked the doctor why he didn't warn me, he didn't know what to say. What's worse, when I was carrying my son back in to lay down, Dr. Mickey said "He just saw Dr. Yang" and I said "Are you kidding? We… were JUST IN YOUR CHAIR!" He didn't even remember my son from 4 minutes prior. I will never forget this experience and the trauma. The staff wasn't helpful and they were just rude. "So do you want 911 to come or not??" My son just fainted and blood is all over the place and it was just a scene with zero compassion. Would never recommend this office to anyone.

Only wish he was taking our health. We had to leave him because of it. As a toddler he was magnificent with my son. We truly miss this man. Dr Mickey please take GHI so we can come back to you

Love him ! He takes extreme care and responsibility towards my daughter. He has helped us through a few surgeries with wonderful results

I wasn't sure what to expect at all. What I got was a nice, friendly staff, and a wonderful doctor who spent real time with us and explained everything to the fullest. I called them in the afternoon and they took me the next morning.

I truly believe Dr. Mickey saved my fourteen year old daughter's vision. She had in the past week been seen by two different pediatrician offices and neither came up with a reasonable diagnosis. When we went to see Dr. Mickey it was because she was still experiencing double vision and one of her eyes was slightly turned into the middle. He asked about the medicines she had been on and we told him she had recently been on minocycline but had not taken it in over one week. Within minutes he had her diagnosed with a pseudo tumor and had us fast tracked in the ER at a local children's hospital. After an MRI was completed, the ER doctor's concurred with his findings and they quickly proceeded with giving my daughter a spinal tap to drain some of the fluid that was pressing on her optic nerve. If the fluid had not been drained, we were told her vision could be permanently compromised. Imagine being 14 and not being able to see properly for the rest of your life. THANKS TO DOCTOR MICKEY… that did not happen. His accurate diagnosis, compassionate manner, and follow-up care is commendable!!!

Dr. Mickey is wonderful, His staff members are rude. I have had to wait for lengths of time, several times. Not happy

Our thanks to Dr. Mickey for being the kindest and most professional eye care specialist. We feel it was a blessing to us to have had him reffered to us by our pediatrician. Everything went as smoothly and easily as could have been expected. We would reccomend him to anyone in need of a opthomologist.

Very bad bedside manner and rude staff.

I have been taking my son to Dr. Mickey for over 15 years and I cannot say enough good things about him. He is extremely knowledgeable, professional and a comforting presence, he truly has (and is) a gift. It will be a very sad day when my son ages out and we have to look for another doctor, because none will ever come close.

He is very detailed and takes time to explain and answer any questions you may have. My two year old daughter is his patient, and I never imagined how he would be able to check her vision...but he did it, very patiently and with great technology. His staff is great!
