Dr. Kimberly Shelley Jackson, MD

I have seen Dr. Jackson for my hypertension ,but recently saw her for an orthopedic problem. I was impressed with how quickly she referred me to a specialist and with the concern she showed about my problem. She was very thorough, professional and compassionate.

Dr. Jackson spent time with me and listened. She ordered an EKG that came back normal which caused her to ignore the symptoms that caused her to order it in the first place. She ordered blood tests that I’ve recently had and over the counter medications with plans to go a step further if they didn’t work. When I expressed a need to go a step further immediately, she asked me if I was “worried” in what I read as a slightly condescending tone. When I told her yes, and that I didn’t want to take medicines as a wait-and-see method, she did not respect my wishes. She then asked me a personal question and made a request that suggested my multitude of symptoms were psychological. My pain, discomfort, and concern about my health were not validated or considered urgent in any way.

I'm a new patient and have been treated as if I've been a patient for years. Dr. Jackson takes the time to listen. She doesn't interrupt to ask questions; she waits until you've finished speaking. She takes the time to know her patients and what will work best for them. She doesn't just write a prescription and send you out the door. Very professional and caring.

Best Doctor I have ever had. She spends time listening to me and seems to care about her patients, don't get that from many doctors. Has excellent staff, was going through some problems at one point and they called every day for a week and checked on me. Thank God for a doctor who cares!
