Dr. Laird E Olson, MD

Dr. Olsen is fantastic. He is patient, answers all questions if you have any left after he goes into detail about treatment and objectives. Very thorough. However, I feel it necessary to say that his staff is a mixed bag. I did not downgrade on the stars because I am rating Dr. Olson himself. The staff rates horrible to fantastic. Only one horrible person can ruin a cancer patients day and sadly she has done that several times for me. Unfortunately, she's the nurse. and I only name her in case there is another nurse I'm not familiar with. Her name is Denise. She's aggressive, rude, pushy, and just horrible to try to deal with. She doesn't listen if you have a question; if you tell her how you are feeling, she interrupts saying 'that's not possible' and is confrontational. Definitely has some sort of personality flaw and has no business being in charge of taking care of patients. The rest of the staff from front desk to radiologists are very nice and good at what they do. But Denise… has actually made me rethink using this office for my cancer care. Dr. Olson has a partner named Dr. Schneider. I do not recommend him. He is on when Dr. Olson is off and MAY be a good doctor. What he isn't is comfortable to be with. I had to ask him not to leave the office because I had another question - he was in and out the door in 1.5 minutes and as he was halfway out I said, please, I have a question. He stood in the open door and just looked at me. As that was my first visit after a week of radiation, I felt that was a very bad 'consultation'. Maybe he was having a bad day, I don't know but it wasn't ok. He would get one star for showing up.

Pleased from beginning to the end with Dr. Olson &staff, consultation visits and with everything he did for me. Thanks to you all at the Dover OH office in radiation therapy.
