Dr. Louis Bell

Cruel terrible bedside manner I woke in fear of my life after colonoscopy and he said “congratulations, you have a very expensive disease.” I have so much to say about how hurtful and harmful he was to me but I don’t even want to relive this.

I have had many colonoscopies. Two were performed by Dr Bell. Stacy in his office is wonderful and my procedures at Okatie Surgical Center performed by Dr Bell have , by far, been the best experiences of all of the procedures that I have needed.

He is a really good doctor, very down to earth. He has a dry sense of humor thou but none of us are perfect!

Thankful Dr. Bell was the physician on call when I took my father to the ER for a severe GI bleed. We will always be appreciative for the efforts he made where he saved my fathers life. Blessed he is in the Lowcountry!

Dr Bell was patronizing, rude and arrogant. He did not listen seriously to my concerns. The final straw was when he made a rude remark about my hysterectomy scars. Please stay away from this toxic practice. If you check other poor reviews, Bell seems to have issues with younger, female patients. A total misogynist.

I have been to many many doctors and I have to say Dr. Bell is one of the most competent, old school doctors who really wants to solve medical issues. He is extremely thorough and spends a lot of time discussing options with you. I highly recommend him for any person in need of an excellent gastro guy, especially if you are complicated.

Dr Bell has been my Gastroenterologist since 2014 when he did an emergency endoscopy to stop a bleeding ulcer. I arrived at hilton head hospital with a hemoglobin count of under 7.0 and Dr Bell was able to move me from the ER to the OR within 15 minutes for my emergency procedure. He has been my Gastroenterologist ever since and has successfully treated several other Gastro issues that I have encountered over the past several years. Additionally, his staff is excellent!

Very personable, and sincere . I have had procedures on 3 occasions, he was great. Called me in eve to be sure I was okay. Highly recommend him.

I have spent two years with a top gastro doc in Cincinnati with little help being given. While on vacation on HHI, I spent four days in the hospital. Dr. Bell took my case; he gave me more care and concern in three days than the two years I have had with my other doc. Two nights he was with me in the hospital at 10:00 p.m. You always hear about the guy who would give you his shirt - Dr. Bell is that guy. He's knowledgeable, perceptive, and cares about the patient. I was never in his office so can only grade him.

went to dr. bell for what i thought was a gi problem. turned out to be a ovarian cancer and he actually called a gyn oncologist in savannah and got me in to see him the following monday. he called me at home and when i was in the hospital to see how i was. i'm so thankful!
