Dr. Maelen Munoz Pantano, MD

If I could give 0 stars I would. She is the absolute worst doctor and everything that is listed below is accurate. You make an appointment and you wait in the room for over an hour before she comes in. Once she comes in, she talks about herself, her family, and her friends over you. If you want to ask her a question, or express something that is concerning you, she talks over you. If you are a few pounds overweight, she will proceed to tell you about how she is trying to lose 2 pounds (keep in mind she is very skinny and now just makes you feel even worse about yourself). If you are being diagnosed with something (high blood pressure, diabetes, etc) and would like an actual conversation to discuss everything, you are not going to get it. You will either get a mychart message, or you will get a nurse calling you. If you need medication refills, don't expect them. I had to make 8 calls (yes, 8 calls) and 4 mychart messages (yes 4) to request a prescription refill. It wasnt until I called… the 8th time and explained I have no pills that her nurse practitioner (not her) refilled them for me. Also - she has cancelled 2 of my appointments in the last 3 months. The first time I was told she was was on vacation for an entire month (must be nice). The second time I was not given an excuse just that she wasnt available. God forbid you were really concerned about your health. CHOOSE ANYONE ELSE!

The longest waiting time while the doctor is taking a coffee break. Over an hour after the appointment time. This is unacceptable.

I was extremely disappointed with the level of support provided by this doctor during an on-call situation over the weekend. Despite marking my question as urgent, I was assured a callback within 30 minutes from the operator, but the doctor reached out after an hour and a half. She had not reviewed my grandma's chart before the call, lacking the typical diligence of on-call physicians. When questioned, she mentioned “being on vacation” and suggested waiting another hour to review her chart. Instead of assisting, she directed me to contact other doctors, treating my call as an inconvenience to her. Her response, "an hour won’t make much of a difference," was dismissive when I asked why she couldn't access information during our call, as most on call doctors do. This negligence and lack of empathy are deeply troubling, considering the severity of the medical question I was calling about. I would not recommend this doctor at all based on this experience. Hopefully she learns something… from the report I will be making on her.

When one on one talks too much of her own Family rather than the patient. Issue with getting prescriptions refilled, usually goes back and forth with patient, pharmacy and office.

Very long waiting time

Impatient, will not sit with you and answer questions. If asked about medication, she can become very sharp with you. No options for alternative medications and side effects.

Dr. Pantano recommended a sleep study and it was discovered that I had sleep apnea, which can cause problems. I was glad to know this.

Dr. Pantano is thee best internal doctor I know. This woman takes pride in her work and make it her business to know you as a person and make permanent record in her mind of your medical profile. There have never been a time after my second visit, that she need to look on my chart to see what we last spoke about. I love Dr. Pantano! Her offices are just as nice, the staff are always welcoming. Please look her up and enroll if there are opening - you will not regret it!

I am 56 years of age. Since I was a child I have had two absolutely amazing primary care physicians. Dr. Pantano is one of them. She is thorough, compassionate, sincere, caring, professional and is good at diagnosing my issues. She has been my doctor for over 15 years and she has been a blessing in my life.

Dr Pantano is an efficient, caring doctor who treats each patient as an important individual. She has been an angel to my husband and me through some very trying times.
