Dr. Mahnaz Behboodikhah, MD

I cannot say enough about Dr. Behboodikhah! She has seen me through some difficult times, and she has been so knowledgeable, helpful and patient with me over the years. I hold her in the highest regard as a person and as an Electrophysiologist.

Amazing diagnostician, gentle manner, clear recommendations, intuitive and pointed. Dr. Behboodikah corrected treatment from others who prescribed for the masses. I almost never submit publicly - but, she deserves praise and recognition for her work and a well run practice!

I was recommended to Doctor Behboodikhah by one of my other doctors, when he said the name, in the back of my mind I remember a friend of mine who had complained about this doctor, without using my better judgement and in need for a cardiologist I went to Doctor Behboodikhah anyway. Well when I made the appointment I met with the receptionist who made a very positive impression on me, due to the fact that she was professional, I felt that I was going to be in good hands, and I commented to my nephew about that, well I was wrong. The minute I walked into the doctors office, it was attitude from the staff and then the doctor was trying to sell me tests and send me to have sleep apnea tests that I didn't need at a private clinic. (I figured she would get a kick back from them), I have been told in the past that I didn't have sleep apnea. When it came time for a stress test, her staff doing the test were very unprofessional, I observed one of them showing a list with patients names… asking if they were on the list, then the person came to me asking my name. When I had the stress test they had to give me Nitro to help me with the test and said I had no problems. I later was in an argument with the doctor because I couldn't walk a block without chest pains and soreness in my jaw, Doctor Behboodikhah tried to tell me that it was angina, I argued with her, and told her on my CT & MRI for my Chest that they do for my cancer follow ups showed plaque build up in my heart, she had the results, so she then decided to do another test, a CT Angiogram that showed I had 92% blockage. I had to have two stents if that didn't work, I was going to have to have bypass surgery, thank God the stents worked. If I didn't argue with this doctor I probably wouldn't be here writing this review, it seemed like every time I went to an appointment I was stressed and upset when I left her office, I have a new cardiologist now, and I feel safe and confident with him. Anyway, I do not recommend this doctor or her staff.

Dr. Behboodikhah was one of my husbands heart doctors. He was admitted to Hoag Hospital with questionable problems. She thought he was bleeding from somewhere and took him off his blood thinning medication which cause him to go into afib. His heart began to fail and he died. What's really disturbing, I made an appt. to see her after her regular hours. I had and autopsy done, which I wanted to discuss with her. He was not bleeding from anywhere. She blew me off and made some lame excuse not to see me. Very hurtful!

Dr Behboodikhah is a fantastic physician. I had an extra circuit in my heart which caused negative issues. She went in and cut the circuit, being extremely careful to not damage my natural pacemaker. My only regret is that I have to wait 6 months before my next visit. She also put me on a CPAP machine which has stopped my snoring at night.

Dr. Behboodikhah has been treating me since 2001 when I had a complete heart arrest and she implanted a defibrillator/pacemaker that was the start of my new life at 62. All through the years, she has treated me like I was her most important patient. I have learned over the years that she is the electro-cardiologist of several of my friends and we share our gratefulness for her care.

I owe Dr. Behboodikhah so much! She inserted my replacement ICD unit in 2011. She has been a wonderful shepherd of my heart health these last eight years. Her staff have been a pleasure to work with as well.

I can't begin to tell you how valuable Dr. Behboodikhah has been to our family. My husband, daughter and I have all gone to Dr. B for the past 10 years. She has watched over our family and supported us through implantation of defib/pacemaker devices for my husband and daughter. She has effectively treated my A-Fib issue with a cardiac ablation. As with any physician you have to ask questions, if you don't understand the answer then ask again. If a treatment doesn't work, and you've followed her instructions (exactly), speak up! She is very open to questions and alternative suggestions. I (and my family) can't recommend her highly enough.

For six years, Dr. Behboodikhah served as my Cardiologist. Unfortunately, she failed to provide the quality of medical care befitting a cardiac patient. Dr. B did not adequately investigate and thouroughly explain my ongoing cardiac issue, which resulted in chronic discomfort and poor cardiac fuction. I do not recommend using this cardiologist, she has poorly served me and will not provide you with the attention and quality of care commensurate of a good physician.

She saved my life. She is one of the Doctors that make up such a great staff at Hoag. If you don't get along "storm" I got shocked once at work once in the pacemaker clinic and then a total of 11 times more that day. If it was not for her there is no doubt in mind I would be dead. I can't recommend her enough. Oh, she can be a "little spitfire" but only if you deserve it! Love ya Dr. B
