Dr. Marco Davis Castro, MD

I have had 2 visits with Dr. Castro for ulnar neuropathy. Basically, the only benefit I received was an order for physical therapy. Both visits were rushed and it appeared that he couldn’t wait to get out of the room. The second visit was a follow up after I had an extremely long, specialized MRI on my elbow. However, Dr. Castro did not go over the results of the MRI even though I asked what they were.

Excellent physician. He answered all my questions and gave me good information about my medical condition. He has a rather stoic affect (like a robot) which some people might interpret as cold and not caring. I liked him and I'll see him again if my condition warrants it.

To Whom It May Concern: I wasn't even able to get past the appointment process unfortunately with this doctor. I had very high aspirations, despite his very poor reviews. What happened is that the office will ask prospective patients to provide documentation in their software portal. The doctor uses a very inexpensive medical record provider, called ProviderFlow (a 25 person company). Prospective patients will spend nearly an hour completing these forms. Unfortunately, even after saving these forms, none are stored! I was surprised to even find a prior patients information stored under the drivers license/personal information section. When it was time for my appointment, the nurse didn't seem too concerned, and after a call back from another nurse, there was slight concern, expressed as an offer for an IT assist. Overall, this experience was very poor. Dr. Castro is playing with people's lives, and is perhaps too ignorant to realize it based on what little I (unfortunately) was… exposed to. AVOID at all costs, unless you have countless hours and perfect health at your disposal.

If I could give him 0 starts, I would. This is a long overdue review. He was the worst doctor I have ever seen. He was the first neurologist I saw years ago after my symptoms began and it was an awful experience. My husband and I both left the appointment upset with how unprofessional and arrogant he was. He acted like he knew everything, but missed my diagnosis. I asked if my symptoms could be related to my cycle and he said "Woman always blame their problems on their hormones." Then later when trying to describe how my symptoms were impacting my ability to care for my children, he interrupted me and said "You don't even know what some of my patients go through. Some are hospitalized, some are blind for days..." Honestly, he has no business working in patient care. I feel sorry for anyone that gets "assigned" to him in the practice. On a side note, I requested to switch to a different neurologist and the practice wouldn't let me. I guess they have too many people trying to switch away… from him.

Went Twice. Both times the office environment/staff was very impersonable. Both times Dr Castro seemed pre-occupied. he never listened or answered my questions. He mumbles and didnt seem very sure of himself. He never looked deeply into the symptoms, but just jumped to the easiest diagnosis.

Doctor Castro is a very bad doctor I felt worse when I left instead of feeling better. This doctor was more of a dictator than a doctor when we spoke over the Phone. I do not recommend to anyone because anyone who goes does not leave feeling better instead feeling worse. I put one Star because that was the lowest number available for a Rating.

I’ve never written a review of anyone or anything before but my experience with Dr. Castro was so awful that if it saves one person from experiencing what I did, it’s worth it. This guy is the furthest from compassionate and thoughtful you could possibly get. I work in the healthcare industry myself doing rehabilitative work so I already had quite a lot of existing knowledge going into the appointment. The session started off with him being 45 minutes late and no apology whatsoever. From there it progressed to a neuro exam and him asking to see my lack of motor control of my left leg which is what I was there for. He asked me to lift it, which I could not, so he told me he was going to assist me and lifted it up for me. From there he asked me to hold it, which I could not, and it dropped back to the table. At the end of the session I asked him what he though the appropriate next steps were and he told me to see a good psychologist. Told he he would run a few tests to make sure it… wasn’t a neuro disorder but that it was a mental problem and that I could do some physical therapy exercises if I wanted. Asked him how he proposed I do that considering I couldn’t move the leg. This *** tells me ‘You can move your leg. I proved it to you.’ The only thing he proved to me is that he can lift my leg up in the air for me. I was grateful that I at least got the MRI orders- well turns out all but one MRI facility in the area doesn’t accept scripts from him. My appointment with him absolutely ruined my day and now I’m back to square one trying to find a new neurologist. Extremely late, huge ego, foregone conclusions, and no sense of how to properly communicate with I would never in my life recommend him to anyone.

This has got to be one of the worst doctors I have ever encountered. My young daughter of 18 had her appointment bumped up and therefore I was unable to attend with her in person. She had me on facetime and was absoltly the most rude man I have ever spoken to; said it is his own policy that he does not allow for facetime; further went on to state, he does not do social media, facebook, facetime or anything else... This is not a kind man who I would want to care for my child at a time of need; very upsetting.

This guy has "ZERO" bedside manner and has NO respect for his patients. He did not even listen to me. I was soo waiting to see him so that I can explain my issues I am facing since last 3 months and was expecting to hear some suggestions.. instead when I told him what happened when I was a lil stressed at work.. he right away said "quit yr job".. it was like a slap on my face ..I love my job and I am very happy.. and I was concerned when I faced few issues the very first time in my life.. He just said that and laughed at me and said "quit yr job"..thats the solution. I would never ever see him again or would recommend this guy to anybody. The only thing this guy is good at is.. humiliating his patients.

This Doctor would get zero stars from me if that were an option. I agree with others about his lack of "bedside manner", he has none. But I try to not count that against a Doctor. If they are smart and are able to help me, then I can get past a little bit of rudeness. This guy however was a piece of work. When I was explaining how I had been reading Web MD, the Multiple Sclerosis website, and other websites (while waiting weeks for my appointment) to try and understand my symptoms, he laughed at me in condescending way and belittled the information I had read. It's like he was offended that I would think information can be found from anywhere else other than the inside of his cluttered with rudeness brain. He went on to act as if he thought I was some sort of hypochondriac, not giving credence to any of my symptoms. At one point, when talking about the numbness in my hands, he stated I maybe I was sleeping on my arms at night (my hands have been swollen and numb for over a… month). During his brief examination, he grabbed the hand that was the worst, and balled it into a fist, after I had taken it as far as it would naturally go. I'm a typical guy who doesnt go to the doctor for anything typically, and the fact that I am sick enough to go to the doctor is a testament to just how sick I feel. To have this guy belittle me and treat me as if there's no reason to worry about my symptoms should be criminal and he should lose his license. Furthermore, when I tried to get a new doctor (after this appointment), I was not allowed to switch doctors unless I wanted to wait for another 2-3 weeks. When I protested, since all I had was a consultation, and didnt understand why this needed to take so long, and due to my symptoms worsening daily I did not want to wait, I was told by the office manager (Liz) told me I was not at a restaurant, and belligerently stated I was just being difficult! I asked to speak with her boss, and she got angry and chastised me, telling me I should go back to Dr Castro and talk to him about my problem with him. When she finally provided the name of her manager, Mark, she thought it necessary to spell it for me slowly as if I was an idiot. She then hung up on me. Obviously, I am going to a different Neurologist. Please, please, please, find a different place for yourself too. I'm going to try and figure out if there is some sort of medical board I can appeal to or some way to voice my experience to a wider audience or in some way that may have an impact on this organization, in the hopes that others in serious need of help can receive it.
