Dr. Marco Arturo Uribe, MD

I used to see Dr. Uribe for almost 4 years, and I truly went in with so much hope. He was kind, patient, and I believed wholeheartedly that he was doing everything he could to help me. Unfortunately, in hindsight, that trust led me through years of unnecessary treatments and pain that could have been avoided. During this time, Dr. Uribe would diagnose me with chronic yeast infections that were believed to be causing my issues, and treat me for them. I was prescribed countless antifungal creams, suppositories, and oral medications — round after round — even though none of it ever brought relief. The constant use of these harsh treatments left my lady parts painfully raw and irritated. After eventually undergoing last-resort surgery with Dr. Uribe that failed to relieve my pain, he referred me to another specialist for vulvodynia — and that’s when everything finally made sense. My new provider reviewed my records and looked at me in disbelief, asking why I’d had over 30 negative yeast… infection tests. I just stared back, confused, because I had been made to believe they were positive all those times. That’s when I learned that my pain wasn’t yeast-related at all — it was caused by nerve dysfunction. It was devastating to realize that if I had been properly evaluated earlier, I could have had relief years sooner. Instead, I spent years cycling through unnecessary medications and painful treatments that only made things worse. To Dr. Uribe’s credit, he was always very kind and always took his time during visits, but his office consistently ran hours behind schedule. Waiting three to four hours past your appointment time was the norm, and while he didn’t rush once you were finally seen, the frustration from those long waits certainly didn’t help. By the end of my time under his care, we had exhausted every option in his toolset. When he finally referred me to a more specialized provider after surgery, that doctor immediately recognized what was really happening — something Dr. Uribe had completely missed for years. I’ll always appreciate that he cared enough to keep trying, but the reality is that his entire line of treatment was fundamentally wrong because the possibility that I was a rarer case was ignored or forgotten. I’m writing this now as someone who is finally pain free, who has had time to process years of confusion and suffering, and who wants to help others avoid the same mistake. Not every patient fits neatly into the category of “this treatment will work for me.” For those of us in the small 1% who don’t — who require a deeper look — please be very cautious when booking with him. I’m not writing this out of anger; I’m writing it out of compassion and awareness. I trusted him completely, and that misplaced trust cost me years of pain, countless unnecessary medications, and physical trauma that could have been avoided. I lost years of potential relief, and I hope to share my experience to help prevent someone going through what I did.

Dr. Uribe is a caring professional. He’s the Gyn that I selected when I relocated to Austin over 12 years ago. You can not go wrong having him and his PA’s, nurses and staff. Everyone who is in his practice has treated me with care, patience and compassion. I would recommend him to anyone who is looking for OB/GYN.

I feel at home, they treat me like family, my safe place for 9 months. I recommend this place to every person so they can feel what it's like to feel cared for and that you care. I love my doctor and his patience, professionalism and dedication.

Marco Uribe is the best OB in Austin. He is caring, knowledgeable , and patient. HOWEVER, I would give the front staff a 0 on ratings. Angel who is the “Business Manager” is extremely rude. There were about 5 people lined up she glared at all of us then went back to working on her computer. She greeted no one. Also they had Club Music playing extremely loud. There are babies, pregnant moms who are miserable, and older women. I had a pounding headache after sitting and waiting 2 1/2 for my appointment time. The 2 front girls rolled their eyes and said I need to talk to Angel. I went over and voiced my complaint and said to be mindful of PATIENTS who are the top priority. So her solution was just turning the music down. The station was playing Rihanna, Jay-z, etc. It’s embarrassing for AAOBGYN that you are a doctors office and allow your business manager to be unprofessional.

I met Dr. Uribe for the first time, i fell in love with his patient care. I’ve always had a female OB provider, but today i met Dr. Uribe. I was so impressed by his bedside manner. He’s definitely highly recommended by a few coworkers and friends, and now by me.
