Dr. Mark Francis Blake, MD

I went to Dr. Mark Blake for a nose job. I had always struggled throughout my life with my self image because of my hooked nose, and my experience was incredible. Dr. Blake took all of my ideas into consideration, patiently explained how he does the nose job, what will happen, and gave me a realistic sense of what my nose would look like. He prides himself of making noses look natural, but better. The day of the surgery I was taken care of very well and comforted when I was out of surgery and confused and high on drugs. The office was always open for any of my follow up questions that I had concerning the meds they gave me or the recovery timeframe. Now I'm a month out from my surgery and my nose is healing so well! It still looks like my nose, just better and way cuter! I'm so thankful for Dr. Blake and everything he has done for my self esteem.

I sought out Blake (I’ve lost all respect for him at the time of writing this review so I won’t even refer to him as “Dr” at this point) to inquire about a scar revision to address a 2 mm by 2mm scar. I left the appointment without scheduling the surgery because I felt somewhat unsettled by him and I wanted to give it some thought. After a couple of weeks went by, I decided that I wanted to have one more appointment to see if I still felt unsettled or if I in fact wanted to move forward. I called and asked for either a Facetime or a Skype appointment because it takes me 1.5 hours to get to his office (so 3 hours roundtrip). Additionally, based on two previous appointments he typically runs 30 minutes late, and with discussion time I was looking at 4 hours total. I should also note that I work full-time, so carving out 4 hours to drive in is incredibly inconvenient. Because he had already seen me twice in person and knew my case, and because this was only going to be a five-minute… conversation that would make carving out 4 hours of my day senseless, this seemed like a reasonable request. To my surprise, I was told “no he doesn’t do that.” Among many other red flags, this was just another. To me this indicates that he doesn’t have any patients from out of the country or even out of the state (as most other surgeons do and can easily accommodate virtual appointments). After I was firm in stating that I wouldn’t schedule without talking to him directly and I wasn’t sacrificing 4 hours for a 5 minute pre-op, he did decided to call me. The conversation only amplified the unsettling feelings I had before, which further reinforces the intuitive feeling I was getting not to schedule with him. His approach in doing the procedure did not make sense to me, as it would still leave part of the scar visible, to which he responded, “it’s better than making it worse.” I also questioned the price of the scar revision, which he wanted to schedule an hour for and charge me a thousand dollars to do. I should note that I had gone to a different surgeon who estimated that it would take approximately 10-15 minutes to complete and quoted me a price of $400. Blake said “well I’m not him” and that he “doesn’t schedule anything for less than an hour,” so even if it takes five minutes, you still get charged for the hour. He further went on to say “this is not a big deal to me. This is not where I make my money. I make my money doing facelifts and tummy tucks. This isn’t something that’s going to put my kids through college. I could actually charge a lot more and I’m doing you a favor, dear.” W.O.W. I could not believe the arrogance and condescension that was coming out of his mouth, including the complete lack of self-awareness. It’s one thing to be a terrible human and actually think these things, it’s another thing to have no filter and actually be dumb enough to say them to a patient. I have literally never been talked to so disrespectfully before and certainly not by a doctor. Just so we’re on the same page Blake, I’m not your “dear,” dear. Also, I didn’t realize that charging me a grand for 10 minutes of your time was doing me a favor – not sure how I missed that one! Furthermore, the only time men lead with their money or their status is when they are trying to compensate for other shortcomings, and I’m sure we can all guess what that might be. Here’s what though, I have a couple ideas of where you can stuff your condescension. I also have a couple of suggestions about how you could better utilize your alleged extravagant wealth, such as taking a Business 101 class to learn how to talk to your patients, trying to work on addressing your God-complex, which as this point is laughable; or possibly addressing your insecurities so that you don’t have to try and convince people how important you think you are. What you really need is a soul though and I don’t think even you could afford that.

One does not have to go to Chicago, NY or LA to find a superb plastic surgeon. Dr. Mark Blake in Milw. is excellent!! I was quite hesitant, but I wanted a lower face and neck lift. Dr. Blake assuaged my fears but also did such a great job!! He is easy to talk to, kind and reachable as well as a very skilled surgeon. I had two concerns, both times while out of town, and he called me back right away. His staff is also wonderful!! Highly recommend him.

After a lot of research, advised by some friends from Milwaukee, had a free consultation with doctor Blake. My son had a mini tummy tuck. We travelled overseas to have the procedure done with dr. Blake and that was never a regret. The care we had from all the staff was more than expected. The nurses were professionals and caring. They made sure to call him everyday even on weekends. The result was exceptional. Dr. Blake,s skill and professionalism changed the life of this young man. Thank you dr. Blake. Thank you Mrs Julie, you were very supportive. Thanks to the whole team in the clinic of Cosemetic surgery. You made us feel at home. Keep it up.

Dr Blake did hair transplantation on one of my family members. She went to him with thinning and his results are so bad she is now forced to wear a wig. Bad technique caused additional hair loss to the existing hair, and the transplanted hairs that did survive are course and irregular. The results are awful!

I saw Dr Blake for a Mommy Makeover. I had skin removed from my abdomen, a breast lift and a breast augmentation. I cannot put into words how happy I am with my results. Dr Blake is a true artist. His professionalism is above and beyond. His staff is absolutely amazing. His PA, Sarah, is the best. I will be forever grateful to him for the amazing care he gave me.

Dr. Blake - I just want to thank you for keeping my best interests your priority. I want to thank you for fighting my battles that I am not assertive enough to fight myself.
