Dr. Mary Ellen Beatty, MD

Dr Beatty was pushy about recommending a cortisone injection directly into the tendon without offering time to think about this. I was 25. Why damage a young tendon? 7 years later, the non-shot hand healed but the cortisone shot joint is still inflamed. She permanently damaged my hand that I needed for my career.

I appreciated the fact that the doctor did not only take a medical approach to my problem. She realized that helping my body to heal was something that might benefit my condition.

I was very pleased with Dr. Barry's explanation of alternative options prior to advocating surgery. Surgery may be inevitable, but she explained other options to try first. She was respectful, sensitive to my reluctance to have surgery before trying other options and gave me adequate time to try the alternatives.

The guys in casting are a hoot! Keep up the good work.

My daughter in law is a nurse practitioner and recommends FOI to all of her patients. My son was treated by Dr. Beatty when he broke his arm. My daughter in law was seen by Dr. Beatty when she fell during a race and injured her hand. All of our family tells people how great FOI is.
