Dr. Matthew Scott Shapiro, MD

Made me cry and I don't cry easily. Told me I was fat. That my MRI results were wrong and made me feel crazy for being referred to ortho. I would never reccomend him to anyone I care about. He is horrid. I lost my trust in slocom.

He belittles patients, makes fun of them, calls them "fat", and dismisses symptoms. Go to another doctor if you want a real diagnosis. Unless of course you are a triathlete and then he "might" give you a little respect.

I went and saw him 2 years ago. My Neurologist sent me to him after I fell during a seizure and broke my left elbow. When told him how I fell he started laughing at me and asked me: do you have seizures? He said: your elbow isn't broken. He just took my cast off and left the room. I never saw him again. I have been in pain every single day for 2 years. A few months ago, I went to the hospital and they took some x-rays of my elbow and they told me: you have a fracture on your left elbow that's about 2 years old. They said: we can't treat it because the injury is a few years old. I am so furious because I have been in pain every day for 2 years and I knew never healed from that fall.

Dr Shapiro has treated both of my shoulders (a total of 3 surgeries) with good results. I found him to be very helpful; a clear communicator and confidence inspiring. As an aging athlete I believe that he has helped keep me active despite my advanced OA.

I had a very complicated knee surgery performed by this man and he did a fantastic job. He's honest and if it helps me to lose 10 pounds he will tell me. I don't need him to shine me on. I need the best doctor money can buy and that's what I got. - Gerald Strebendt

Very rude, arrogant and condescending doctor. Terrible bedside manner. I'd never go back to him.

This is the second time I have seen him and the only reason I went to see was because my Neurologist referred me to their clinic. When he referred my over I really hoped they did not refer me to Dr. Shipro. He is a consending, insulting, and care nothing about humiliating his patients. He basically almost laughed at me when I told him how I fell during a seizure. He then told me to lose weight and how will need surgery in a few years that will probably fail. Then one of his staff members came in the room and asked if I had the seizure at home. When I told her: Yes She goes: okay, cool!!!! REALLY???? SERIOSLY!!!!!

Very rude..demeaning insulting.not friendly. Got do and don't sketches.. Worst experience ever..will never go back. Personal professional referrals for slocum..dignity and respect are considerations for me. Not warranted here

Rudest doctor ever! Has no empathy or compassion at all.

After several visits at $60 a visit, was told that I needed PT before surgery, Last visit I told him that I was still in extreme pain from shoulder, he told me that he does not operate on MRI results alone, but also pain, then had me against the wall pushing on my bad shoulder saying that when I could touch the wall, then he would consider surgery, I left went to my primary, saw another surgeon, who had me in withiin two weeks, the entire front of my labrum was torn, along with the bicep. Avoid this guy!
