Dr. Maya Devi Srivastava, MD

Extremely combative and rude doctor. Believes her opinion matters more than anyone else’s in the worlds and will fight with you (literally) if you question her. She kept belittling how I felt and would tell me I’m “fine” even when I was sitting in the office in tears because I was barely eating due to feeling so sick all the time. NOT WORTH YOUR TIME. So much stress comes from her and no progress was made. Just find a different doctor.

Eight years ago, my G.I. was going crazy. My primary doctor did every test under the sun, and I ended up at Roswell Park Cancer Institute with the thought that it was cancer. After a full body scan, no cancer. The next step was I was to go see Dr. Maye. Within 45 minutes she looked at all of my paperwork, all of my test results, and figured the whole thing out. In one visit. She saved me; I had truly been suffering for over a year, and I remain grateful to this day.

Completely unprofessional from start to finish. I was the first appointment of the day and she showed up (to her own practice) ten minutes late, with two patients already in the waiting room. What a horrible first impression. I was called back relatively soon by a medical student, who was far more competent than the doctor herself. She was kind, attentive, and listened to what I had to say (although this may have been difficult while we overheard the doctor chatting away loudly about her personal life to either another patient/ the receptionist). Then the student stepped out, and eventually Dr. Maya made her way over to her, right next to the room I was in (with the door open), and chatted loudly about me within my earshot, asking her “what she thinks they should do with me”. She then came in to tell me what unnecessary procedures she thinks I need, was very rude and would not listen to a word I said. I explained to her why a certain procedure was not a viable or probably necessary… option, but it was like talking to a very unprofessional wall. She was pushy and made me feel very uncomfortable. As a patient, you want a doctor you can trust, one that listens and shows integrity and isn’t just trying to put your money in their pocket, and unfortunately Dr. Maya was the latter. Pompous, rude and unprofessional. I would strongly advise against visiting Dr. Maya, and I am even questioning my primary physician who referred me to her.

I called to make an appointment and the receptionist did not sound professional, she sounded sleep. They require a referral even if your insurance does not.

Dr. Maya started treating my daughter 15 years ago when she was a baby diagnosed with ulcerative colitis. Dr. Maya is the most intelligent woman I have ever met and will get to the bottom of immune issues. Maya treats patients until she find the cause of outward symptoms. She is simply amazing and I would not trust immune or GI issues to anyone else.

Our son first came to see Dr. Maya when he was 12 years old. He had been to Strong Children's Hospital, Boston Children's Hospital and Cincinnati Children's Hospital after being termed "medically complex" from the medical profession. We were in search of a diagnoses for why he wouldn't grow. After a multitude of tests every doctor said the same thing, "We don't know why." Finally a friend whose daughter suffered from one of the diseases our son had suggested we go see Dr. Maya. Right away she was amazing. She stays so current in her fields that it didn't take her long to realized that our son's immune deficiency was being treated correctly. She changed his treatment plan and he began to grow and gain weight within the year. He continues to be seen by her regularly for GI, Immune and Allergy issues. His illnesses are all being managed with proper medication and doses. Today our son is 21 years old and can do everything a typical young adult can do, as long as he follows Dr. Maya's… orders!

Diagnose and treaded me, previous Doctors told me to have surgery because there was nothing they could do. Dr. Maya treats me and I am able to function with a normal life.

She is an outstanding doctor....professional, warm& caring & very thorough. We have gone to her for almost 10 years. She is the only one out of many many doctors to accurately diagnose and treat the cause. I trust her because she has never been wrong and she made a huge difference in the quality of our lives. She spends a lot of time with us when we go to appointments and explains everything. She has extensive knowledge and I found her to be very personable. I can't thank her enough. There is also a new front desk person the past year or so and she is much nicer than the old secretary. I wonder if some of these negative reviews are even real or if the old secretary was the reason.

We took our son to see her a few years ago and she was just dreadful. She was mean and nasty and we left abruptly in the middle of the appt - her office staff is just as nasty. I would never go back EVER

At first glace, she seems to be a nice doctor, trying to find the problem by ordering various tests. But as soon as you do your own research on the problem, or employ the expertise of other doctors in addition to her care, she turns into a verbally abusive, bullying doctor who raises her voice repeatedly if the parents of a young child dare to say they have seen research which goes against her beliefs. She disregards anyone else's knowledge, and tries to dismiss other medical professionals as "not real doctors." She is quick to argue with you about any of your concerns, insisting that there are no possible side effects to any of the medications she wants your child to be on, and often threatens parents with the worst possible outcome, saying that it will happen to your child if you don't do exactly what she says. DO NOT go to this "doctor." She should be required to take down the sign in her waiting room that says she welcomes any and all questions about diagnoses and treatment plans,… because she does not truly welcome anything that is not her way.
