Dr. Mena Mounir Mesiha, MD

My experience with Dr. Mesiha was incredibly disappointing. He diagnosed my shoulder pain as a posture issue without proper examination, barely checking my range of motion. He dismissed my concerns about the actual source of my pain and implied I wasn't interested in treatment. When I questioned his diagnosis, he brushed off my concerns and showed no real interest in my MRI scans, claiming he already knew the outcome. Overall, Dr. Mesiha was condescending and arrogant. I left feeling unheard and without a clear path forward. I do not recommend this provider.

Dr. Mesiha replaced by husband's shoulder ... he did a fantastic job that has stood up to the test years and years later. We are thankful to have his talent in our region.

Dr. Mesiha is a great surgeon. He is also very good at listening to his patients concerns. I have had wonderful results with one shoulder and having recently injured the other I will be returning to Dr. Mesiha for treatment.

Dr. Mesiha is exceedingly knowledgeable, friendly, & approachable as a surgeon. I met the surgeon who trained him in Boston, Dr. Lawrence Higgins. Dr Higgins is world renowned and highly recommended Dr Mesiha to me.

My father went in for a rotator cuff tear surgery with Dr Mesiha. Dr Mesiha told us while he couldn’t promise anything, because with any surgery there are risks and no guarantees. He didn’t even repair the rotator cuff tear. Instead he chose to “clean up a bone spur and some arthritis”. My father is now in more pain and has less range of motion than before the surgery. To add insult to injury, when he went to his follow up apt Dr Medina said “none of my patients are listening to me; you’re not listening to me.” Yet my father did everything he was told, ie home exercises, physical therapy, apply ice. Anyone considering a surgery with Dr Mesiha please take the trouble and get a second opinion

Dr Mesiha performed a procedure on my Dad, but when he did an inadequate job he proceeded to blame everyone else but himself. He chose to blame the patient, physical therapy & his staff. He stated that no one did what they were should have done & that was why he was worse & in more pain than before the surgery. If Dr Mesiha had preformed the procedure that was scheduled than the outcome could have been different, instead of repairing a rotator cuff he chose to clean the arthritis & bone spur instead, without even touching the rotator cuff. I suggest anyone to get a second opinion before making a final decision to have a surgery with him

I met Dr. M. when he was a fellow of Dr. Jon Warner's at MGH and he was a very caring and thoughtful person/doctor. I recommend him to anyone needing any treatment for shoulder problems. You can't go wrong with this doctor; trained by the finest from Boston.

Listens to you, first that means a lot to me, and has it together.

Very honest, forthright, and concerned about me instead of his "bottom line". Rare breed of Dr and a very refreshing change to be sure! Saved me from having surgery before it would have its most positive outcome.
