Dr. Michael Karim Newman, MD

It took a series of procedures, but I have a beautiful, natural bustline today, and I look great in and out of clothes. A cancer diagnosis is very scary and depending on treatment, cosmetic options can be limited. I was fortunate to consult with Dr. Newman, a remarkably skilled surgeon and from the advance notice I'd gotten, an apparently stellar human being on every level. Everybody I encountered before the consultation had praise for him. For example, when I told my cancer surgeon who I had opted to do the DIEP reconstruction after she performed the mastectomies, her face lit up. "That's wonderful! Dr. Newman is a joy to work with", she said. It wasn't long after we met in his office that I began to see what all the fuss was about. While I can't say I'm glad I had cancer, or glad I had to go through all of this, I can definitely say I felt like I couldn't have come out on the other side of it better than I did.

My wife had a bilateral mastectomy 2 years ago and Dr. Newman did a perfect job in the reconstruction. She looks and feels great due to his attention to detail and unbelievable skill set. She looks incredible both dressed and undressed and no one can tell she even had surgery. Dr. Newman was patient, caring and understanding both before and after the procedure which made the process a little easier. We would highly recommend him to family and friends!

I will be forever grateful to Dr. Newman for the amazing job he did with my reconstructive surgery. His sweet and calm demeanor made a challenging situation, much easier. He always took his time to answer all my questions and address my concerns. I was given realistic expectations regarding the surgery, but then he delivered above and beyond with amazing results. The surgery was much easer than I had imagined, with only minimal (well managed) discomfort. Afterwards a recovery room nurse told me that his patients have less pain, swelling and bruising and I can testify to that. His follow up care was exceptional. Plus his staff is super kind, supportive and always eager to assist. I have already recommended him to friends and family. I should add that he came highly recommended by other local doctors and healthcare providers.

Never in a million years would I ever have imagined I'd be getting plastic surgery. My older sister got a terrible looking breast augmentation over 10 years ago and since then, the idea of getting work done had never crossed my mind. That is until I concluded breastfeeding my third child. I am 30 years old but my breasts made me look and feel like I was much, much older. Unfortunately, they don't make bras for post-breastfeeding mommy boobs. Tube socks tied on a belt maybe?!? I talked it over with my husband and I decided that I would go in for a consultation to just hear what they had to say. I met with Dr. Newman and he couldn't have been more professional. He answered all of my questions thoroughly and was patient with me when I pushed for more information. I decided to go ahead and schedule a breast augmentation with Dr. Newman because I felt comfortable talking to him and I believe that he truly listened to my concerns and understood my vision. I was still unsure about implant… size because I wanted to stay on the smaller size so my breasts looked more natural. Dr. Newman was completely understanding and took me through all of the implant sizes (again). I decided on 300cc moderate implant. Dr. Newman expressed his concern with my choice because it would not give me the look I was going for. I kept pushing that I wanted to stay in the 300cc range and Dr. Newman politely disagreed because he said that number would not have given me the look I wanted. We ended up deciding on 385cc. Surgery day flew by. I arrived at the surgery center (same floor as his office) at 6:45am and before I knew it, my husband was driving me home. The room was amazing! My nurse was amazing! The anesthesiologist was amazing! They were the dream team. His anesthesiologist, I believe her name is Dr. Patel (spelling may be different), went above and beyond for me! Recovery was a breeze. I had some pain the second day and that was pretty much the bulk of it. My incisions are so tiny that my husband was having trouble seeing them under the glue. My swelling went down within the second week. I am now 3 weeks post op and as much as it pains me to admit that I was wrong... I was wrong. I am so happy that Dr. Newman encouraged me to go with 385cc rather than 300cc. They are exactly what I wanted. Size, shape, everything. Perfect. I feel and look so much younger and I have more confidence than I've ever had in my life. It's hard to explain this feeling to someone who didn't breastfeed their children and doesn't know the saggy boobs blues. My husband asked me to express his approval in my review. He likes them... a lot! Like a lot, a lot! In fact, he likes them too much. I wouldn't be surprised if I came home and he had a pair of his own. I don't do anything for myself... ever! Everything I do is for my kids or my husband. I even put our dog's needs before my own so this was very out of character. Going into this I was unsure if I would regret it but now my only regret is that I didn't do it sooner! (It sounds cliche, but it couldn't be more true!) Dr. Newman is a great choice for any kind of plastic surgery. He is a very good listener and desires an excellent outcome for the patient. I had breast reconstruction post double mastectomy and was totally satisfied with my results. He is a very kind doctor who I highly recommend.

After being diagnosed with breast cancer in 2014, I chose Dr Newman to perform my reconstructive surgery. He made me feel comfortable during the entire process. He is a perfectionist! He was very caring and thoughtful throughout my whole horrible ordeal. He made me feel comfortable and I put my complete trust in him. He is by far my favorite doctor I've had my entire life! I was so fortunate to have Dr. Newman as my reconstructive surgeon as I dealt with the unexpected diagnosis of breast cancer. Dr. Newman is a great doctor. He does amazing work and makes a very difficult situation easy to get through. Everyone who heard that he was my doctor would say to me, "oh, you're so lucky!" I would highly recommend Dr. Newman to anyone for reconstructive and/or plastic surgery. He really is the best.

At first I was a bit hesitant to go forward with plastic surgery. But once I finally decided to proceed ahead, I was so happy with the results. The procedure was so simple and has transformed my appearance, weight, and confidence level. Dr. Newman is amazing with his craft and his God Given talent. I have absolutely no evidence (scars) of having done the procedure and zero complications. I would encourage everyone to use Dr. Newman because he is a brilliant plastic surgeon.

Dr. Newman is truly the best! After being diagnosed with advanced breast cancer, I had a bi-lateral mastectomy and reconstructive surgery. Dr. Newman took care of my reconstructive surgery and has done a phenomenal job... along with my latissimus dorsi flap surgery. He is the nicest, most professional doctor. He truly cares for each of his patients and has great bedside manners! I could go on for days talking about how great he is. He makes me feel very comfortable and I think he is so witty! I don't even know how to begin writing a review for Dr. Michael Newman. Initially, I went to him as a second opinion when I needed to make a decision about surgical options having just been diagnosed with stage IIA breast cancer earlier this year. He was kind and caring from the start. He answered all my crazy questions patiently and thoroughly which helped me make the best decision for myself. I knew before I even left that consultation that he was the surgeon I wanted to be operating on me. His bedside manner is professional yet full of humor. His work was masterful and the results are amazing. I couldn't be more satisfied and recommend him whole-heartedly.
