Michelle Benoit, MD, MPH, FACS, FACOG

Dr. Benoit's bedside manner has the greatest potential for improvement as this is her biggest blind spot. This characteristic is complimented by her explicit indifference. She could begin to improve by being extra cautious when communicating with patients who are suffering and are facing a cancer death sentence. Dr. Benoit could begin to improve by not being dismissive of a patients feelings. While a debulking cancer treatment might be routine for Dr. Benoit, it's horrific and a very traumatic moment in a patient’s life. Therefore, Dr. Benoit needs to make herself available to her patients, this means being emotionally present with them.

She operated on my mom. My mom had a hysterectomy by this doctor 10 months ago. She kept on bleeding internally after the surgery and died in the hospital on the 6th day after the surgery. This doctor did nothing to save her life. Till this day she has not contacted our family to let us know what happened. No explanation. Nothing! Even when we made a phone appointment to talk to her, she did not talk. What a disrespect to human life........

Not friendly, even mean, liar... instead of the one surgery i might have 3 now., because she refused to do D&C test while on the surgery and even on the post surgery notes said i denied it... Liar..... the whole point to do the surgery (removing ovary) in this hospital was to get a D&C test results right away while on the surgery and remove my uterus if it is necessary and have only one surgery , it is what was planed. But now i have to to D&C test under anesthesia wait for the results to come in the week and do another surgery most likely. Really upset...

Dr. Benoit is exceptional. Very professional and highly regarded by her peers and professionals working with her. She knew how nervous I was about what my problems were. She was comforting and very reassuring of what she could do for me. She and her PA Amy Murphy are a fantastic team. Their goal is totally geared to getting and doing the very best for their patients.  Just before surgery she visited with me patted my arm and reassured me that everything would go well. Surgery was set for 3 hours and she finished in 2. Amy was the one to visit me the day after surgery. She was very attentive. Explaining the surgery.  Answering any questions and assured me that they were only a phone call away if I needed them. (I'm in Olympia and they are in Bellevue) Amy also called me the day my pathology came in. The fact that they didn't wait days to let me know, even when it was good news. No cancer. Such a relief.  If my daughter or granddaughter ever have the need Dr. Benoit would be… my first choice for them.

Dr. Michelle Benoit does NOT have any daughters, so you obviously are not speaking of the MB that I know. Michelle F Benoit is the most compassionate, patient, empathetic and extremely intelligent doctor that I know. I had the honor of seeing her growth while she was still a Fellow @UTMB-Galveston. She was brilliant then, and she remains so now - vibrant and humble. I worked side by side with her and saw with my own 2 eyes, her bed-side manner. She is a lovely, passionate, caring doctor. She wants nothing more than to eradicate this horrible thing called cancer - and will do everything in her power (and brilliant mind) to cure her patients or provide loving compassionate care to those that there is no cure. She will always be a GEM in my eyes.

This woman was the Dr. for my mom and she was completely cold. She was quickly irritated when asking her questions regarding my Mom's diagnosis and wasn't very forthcoming with information. She made you feel silly and dumb for even thinking such things, as if one should know something that was so obviously trivial to her. I felt like she was unprepared to speak to us and didn't take time to truly review anything. I could be wrong but it's how she came off. The only time she showed a bit of enthusiasm is when she spoke about her daughters going to the Bug Museum which was close to where we live. This woman seems like a heartless, i don't care, kind of Dr. and I wish my mom would had seen someone else. My Mom has always been healthy so this news was very shocking for us all. We needed comfort not coldness; and even if she didn't care because it wasn't directly affecting her or someone she loved, she could have at least pretended. When my mom completed all her treatment she didn't even… come in to greet or congratulate her. Instead she sent her assistant. My mom still has a threat of cancer because they weren't ever able to pinpoint where it started and she's showing some signs of cancer in her kidneys; but by the grace of God, in the name of Jesus, she will be healed completely.

Wonderful care provider. She is agressive about treating cancer and follows her patients closely for 5 years. I am now cancer free for almost 4 years. I feel very fortunate to have her as my gynecologic oncologist.

She's an idiot.

Dr Benoit told me i have 2 weeks left. She also told me that diet, nor sugar plays a part in how cancer behaves. Sugar nor diet play a part in how cancer can grow or recede. She needs to go back to school! Her only answer for me, radiation and chemo, no other words, no other advice, heartless. I'll never go see another doctor in my life, according to her, I don't even have that much longer to live anyways! I've been in tears ever since i seen her. I've never been so saddened by a doctor so much in my life.

Dr. Benoit walked me through every step of my journey! She was carrying, compassionate, and thorough. I appreciated always knowing what was happening and what our next step would be! I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a doctor that pays attention to detail and is highly competent. Proud to say that I have been cancer free for 4 years!
