Dr. Morris Edward Guthrie III, MD

I had a 23 week old micro preemie. At our first eye exam, Dr. Guthrie was kind but very frank about our situation. She had stage 2 ROP, he informed us that it may get worse, but it may also get better. If it gets into stage 3 ROP, we will need to discuss either the injections or the laser surgery. A few weeks later both of her eyes were at stage 3 ROP but not extremely severe yet. Dr. Guthrie suggested we wait a week to see if it improves on its own. If it stayed the same or improved by the next appointment (every week) we would continue to wait. If it got worse, he would go with the surgery. Week after week, her eyes stayed the same so we continued to wait. After about a month an a half, her eyes began to improve. My baby girl is now home and she has NO ACTIVE ROP! I am so glad Dr. Guthrie waited and watched while her eyes improved on their own. He is an excellent doctor and I would recommend him to any and everyone

The wait time is probably not even 15 minutes as the technicians come out right away and put drops in your baby's eyes. This office is run sufficiently!
