Dr Salama delivered both of my babies. He was wonderful!

I couldn't imagine having to spend 9 months interacting with the staff who took my new patient informaiton. They were incredibly rude and unprofessional. They sounded irritated from the time they picked up the phone. The initial pre-natal appointment was scheduled with a nurse practicioner - NOT the doctor. I can't understand not seeing the doctor for the first appointment (to establish any potential risks, to meet and make sure I like the doctor before the actual birth). After that is established, I wouldn't mind a nurse practicioner for normal follow ups, but it doesn't make sense for the first appointment. This doctor does not include an ultrsound as a standard part of the initial pre-natal visit. They are only available "after hours if they are absolutely necessary". Earlier ultrasounds are more accurate in determining the baby's age. That is an important piece of information to make sure you have correct. It would be best to verify if I am carrying a single child or multiples… early on. It is also good to make sure the baby is developing in the proper place and to make sure there are no abnormalities. I can't understand an obstetrician that does not include an ultrasound at the initial appointment.

I really enjoy Dr. Salama and his team.I feel that Del Rio is very lucky to have such a wonderful clinic. I travel from Eagle Pass because I cannot say that about the hospital I work at. Ms. Mesa is amazing and really is thorough and answers all of our questions.

He was alright, i just wish he wasn'tso occupied with other things. So like that he could have actually sat down and listen to my concerns and discuss about them.

He was my doctor for my 2nd and 3rd pregnancies and I wish to GOD he would have been my doctor for my first!! He is an awesome doctor and found problems that I'd had with my first pregnancy that led to complications with my last two. I now live out of Del Rio, but when I get pregnant again, I am SERIOUSLY SERIOUSLY considering going back to Del Rio every monthand to have my baby. I cant say enough good things about him. One of the downfalls is that since he is such a great doctor and the BEST one in town that accepts Medicaid, it is hard to get a quick appointment and the wait time can be outstanding. But be patient...it is WELL worth it! He will stay with you until all your questions and concerns have been answered and dealt with.
