Dr. Myung Whan Choi, MD

Despite liking Dr Choi and believing him to be a good enterologist, I had a very bad experience at Gastroenterology Associates in Gainesville, VA. After my routine colonoscopy I developed a painful hemorrhoid. While he could have mentioned it as a possible outcome, all we discussed was the minute chance of puncturing my colon. Not that I might have the first hemorrhoid of my life. When I tried to schedule a follow up, his staff told me he could only see me a month later. They were definitely on to the next customer. After some persistence they agreed to squeeze me in. Then while waiting for him to enter I could hear the nurses laughing about my condition with him. “I wouldn’t want your job! Ha ha ha.” And “you should just push it back in, ha ha ha.” It was shockingly unprofessional. I’d expect that in a high school not a medical office. I told him I’d heard them through the door and he apologized, but he didn’t stop it. No apology yet from the nurses. I think you can do better.

I wish you guys ran blood work. I had a difficult time coordinating with conducting blood work with Dr. Berry my OB. The follow up is not Dr. Choi, he's amazing physician.

I have been working with Dr. Choi for a few months and he is fantastic. Very knowledgeable and friendly. He talks to you and explains things in a way that is easy to understand. He always responds to questions very quickly. I feel I am in good hands and am lucky I found him.
