Dr. Neil Barry Kirschen, MD

Terrible experience with Dr. Kirschen Dr. Kirschen was very disrespectful towards me and frankly very rude. He said in a nasty tone that he sees that I've been to every other doctor on Long Island. He then made a few more nasty comments and then he dismissed me abruptly. He was mistaken as I have only been to one other doctor on Long Island but even if I had been to every other doctor on Long Island, why should he be angry about that? It's not like I asked for pain medication. That's not why I went to him. I went to him because I have been in severe pain for the past 8 years and was looking for help. He didn't even give me a chance to speak. I don't understand how a pain management doctor could not only have zero empathy for his patients, but also treat them as he treated me.

He horribly painfully debilitated me with his medical procedure

Dr. Kirschen did an Epidural Steroid Injection on me which is still causing me excruciating head and back pain as well as physical debilitation that has made me home bound for over 3 years. I found out afterwards that the Epidural Corticosteroid Injection wasn’t necessary from a couple of doctors who said that the MRIs did not show a herniated disc like he claimed but that rather I had piriformis muscle syndrome.

I have been suffering from excruciating pain since Dr. Kirschen did an Epidural Corticosteroid Injection on me a few months ago. I have worse and additional back pain from his procedure. I also have intense pain, nausea, and unsteadiness from a Post Dural Puncture Headache confirmed by an MRI as well from the Epidural Corticosteroid Injection Dr. Kirschen did on me. I wish I had been told that these painful complications were possible from the procedure.

I have sought out relief from my chronic back pain from Dr. Kirschen for the past twenty five years. I often walked in crying and left feeling calm, hopeful and better. He is positive, funny and extremely competent. The vibe in the office is upbeat and this sets the tone for improved health. I am totally grateful to Dr. Kirschen and Patricia who has used acupuncture to alleviate certain issues. I totally recommend them.

I haven't been to Dr Kirschen in a few years....Thanks to Dr Kirschen! He helped fix two issues I had..One was constant pain from a broken tailbone & the second with his injections to treat my sciatic pain. He his thorough and kind. He explained everything and was extremely patient with all my questions. Oh and the staff in the office was also great. (Also important when you have chronic pain and can be cranky!)

After Being in pain as long as I had been Relief was more than a need. He was very polite, Explains everything, Great bedside manner. Experienced and great at what he does.

Dr. Kirschen is at the top of the list when it comes to quality patient care and bedside manner. I have been dealing with substantial pain problems for over twenty years now. I was referred to Dr. Kirschen by another doctor after having excruciating pain following my second back surgery in twelve years. The degree of pain I experience and the quality of life has changed drastically.
