Dr. Nery Denisse Balcacer-Estevez, MD

I'm being billed for services I was never made aware of nor provided documentation to substantiate them.. After almost a year of asking for my medical records she continues to withhold them.. With only partial documentation received thus far she has refused to provide me my medical records to include by not limited to all billing records, all hand notes, all progress notes and all notes for which she wishes to bill me. I'll now make my issues known now to the Better Business Bureau as well as the Federal Government and let them educate the good doctor on her need to comply and what she needs to provide. And if warranted fine her as may be appropriate. By way of review a health care service provider in her area was recently fined $85,000 for not providing a complete set of medical records for a single instance (one patient).

Made an appointment over 2 weeks ago, arrived at the appointment to be told it was cancelled, as they didn't have a referral from my PCP. I was seen there before 2 years ago. A referral is not required by my insurance, they never asked for it when I made the appointment or during the following 2 weeks. Waste of my time!!! Shame because I really like the Doctor!

She understood my problem when others didn't.

Please stay clear of this person Nery D Balcacer-Estevaz. I was unfortunately admitted to HCA Northside in Saint Petersburg and assigned her as my General Physician. (This hospital and it's staff were professional expedient and knowledgeable when they saved my life 3 years prior.) I was able to see my specialist which already ordered an MRI and blood work and was going to get a consult to have my gallbladder removed as well as inspect for the 'C' word. After the woman has the opportunity to introduce herself she did not listen to a word coming out of my mouth but went on a diatribe about which I was not diagnosed nor did she listen to a question but rather treated me as a 4 year old that had just wet the bed. Instead of staying for care I chose to leave the hospital and seek help via my doctors. I can only hope that this woman does not treat the individuals that are not able to speak back or alert others to her terse bedside manner. I try to think that people in the healthcare… profession should have courtesy and kindness when dealing with the weak, vulnerable, and in pain searching for answers and assistance. But, I will avoid this woman at all cost.
