Nho Bill Tran, MD

Previous reviews are outdated and I caution anyone who reads them to look at the dates. Dr. Tran is Aggressive and Arrogant! Dr. Tran uses a rigid and arrogant approach in clinic and does not work WITH patients to help them achieve the best outcome. He is aggressive both verbally and physically and his his own agenda on how things should proceed. If you ask questions, he responds defensively and loudly. Dr. Tran changes surgical plans whenever he chooses to, even with the plan in writing. You will not get the same response from him with each visit, which also adds to confusion and the lack of trust a patient develops with this surgeon. Dr. Tran’s nurse is complacent, which adds to the lack of trust in this team. If you want a surgeon who cares about their patients, shows empathy and kindness, Dr. Tran is not your surgeon.

Doctor Tran has performed a gracilis graft muscle surgery. Going into surgery, was anxious over recovery and how leg will function and look like. Dr Tran has taken the time to explain the procedure and how to best prepare and recover. With recommended diet and exercise, 2 months later leg was fully functional, scars are minimal, almost invisible to my surprise given the 10 inch muscle being harvested from my leg. Incredible compassionate and experienced doctor. He is a true reflection of what Mayo stands for trust, compassion, excellence in service and being there every step of the way to reassure you that he will do everything possible for your care and wellbeing.

Dr. Tran performed gynecomastia surgery on me using a combination of a cartilage shaver and liposuction. My results were excellent. All of the mayo clinic staff were great. Recovery was rough for a few days, but I was well informed on how to deal with it. Dr. Tran was very pleasant and I believe that he was a key player in getting my insurance company to pay for the procedure, which they normally wouldn't cover.

My decision to choose Mayo Clinic for my Rhytidectomy was base on my initial consultation appointment with Dr.Nho V. Tran and his nurse Phyllis Convery. I had been through a consultation with Edina Plastic Surgery and sought a second opinion from Mayo because I wanted to be assured I had an honest opinion with no pressure to proceed. Dr. Tran outlined various options and advised me that this was not a simple procedure. His nurse Phyllis cautioned me that I might have day after regrets that would ease with time. I felt Dr. Tran understood my desired outcome and was confident he and his team would get me through the process. Everything I was told was spot on, nothing had been glossed over. Seeing Dr. Tran immediately before and after the surgery was very reassuring. The day after the surgery, 4 days post op to remove the drains and most recently to remove the sutures, Dr. Tranâ??s positive and personal approach continues to be reassuring. I have not had a single appointment without him… being present and in control. My final outcome is several weeks away however every day progresses exactly as Dr. Tran and his team said it would â?? success. I am very pleased with the new look he created for me. I would tell anyone interested in this procedure that the experience with Dr. Tran and his team at Mayo has been exceptional.

Very talented man. Very direct about what he can and cannot do for you. Will advocate for you if needed.
