Dr. Nisha Chand, MD

Years, ago I had work done from this doctor and complained that her colonoscopy ruined my life from 3 years of horrible IBS. I left s bad review, and I got refunded months later. I feel much better now, and she actually caught an aggressive cancer before it affected me. My other doctors say I was lucky, but the truth is she saved my life and I should be dead. This is a good doctor and a good person. I apologize for my angry review.

Dr. Chand is very thorough and spends time with patients. I switched to her after using two Gastros to treat my UC. First one was never available and I had to see Nurse every time. The second one was so busy that he would not spend more than a few minutes. Even at the time of colonscopy I had to remind him that I have generally been in remission. Dr Chand on other hand, spends time, is well prepared. You need a Doctor like that in order to maintain UC remission. Her staff - Harini and others are very responsive.

The doctor is good, but the office staff could do with some professional training. The patient has to follow up constantly follow up for test results and the next steps. Follow up is extremely poor. You can never pick up the phone and talk to their office staff, you have to leave a voice mail and wait to hear from them. Extremely disappointed!

Slow .....Hard to get an appt with this female gastroenterologist...So went elsewhere in No. Va.

The problem with doctor Chand isn't her ability to diagnose - it is with her follow up. As a patient have to continually call for diagnosis, test results, when having an allergic reaction to a medication I was told "make an appointment 2 days from now" when I called. Most docs would call something in. too many of these experiences and last time I patiently waited for an hour over my scheduled time to see the dr. she spends time with people - but the wait is crazy. there is no back up doc in this practice as far as I can tell. disappointing as she is quite skilled.
