Dr. Oliver Stephen Kurucz, MD

I have been to practically every rheumatologist in the county, New Jersey and some in the city. What a great surprise that Dr. Oliver listened patiently to me and worked with me to make me better. I understood that it would be a long road and lots of trial and error. Since my initial visit, I’ve developed a trusted relationship with a great doctor. We made a few medication changes, and I feel better than I have in years. Kudos to Dr. Oliver.

Dr. Kurucz was patient, thorough and knowledgeable. I feel that I have finally found someone who understands autoimmune disease. It is not like fixing a broken bone. The autoimmune journey is not an easy one. It is not easy to treat either. His office help was professional and friendly. I would highly recommend Dr. Oliver Kurucz.

I had an appointment with this doctor because of severe muscle pain. An hour before my appointment, I receive a call from his receptionist who tells me they don’t accept “us people” who get Medicaid. First of all, I do not have Medicaid. I have Medicare due to a seizure disorder. This receptionist had a preconceived notion that I was poor and felt that she had the authority to talk down to and belittled me. She used derogatory terms and said that the doctor refuses to see anyone who cannot pay for him. Then continues to say that I should not come into this country expecting a hand out. I am an American citizen . I never said I was not going to pay. I was completely willing to pay. I think it’s disgusting how his receptionist was passing along prejudice messages that she claims the doctor was telling her to say. All this aggravation unfortunately gave me seizure activity. I also took off work for this appointment as well. I was so upset the way I was treated that I called my local… politician to find that they’ve had problems with this doctor before and this is not the first time they’ve heard of racist and prejudice behavior from this doctor. I highly suggest if you have any moral compass, that you do not see this doctor. This clearly is an indicator that he doesn’t treat or look at everyone as equals, but as second class citizens. Shame on you and your office Dr. Kurtz!

So happy to have found this doctor. After several visits to other physicians with no real answers, Dr. Oliver diagnosed my condition. We worked together to come up with a treatment plan. He’s very attentive and always listens to my input. He seriously gave me back my quality of life!

I have been going to Dr.Kurucz for about 2 years now and he is amazing! He is very prompt with appointments and has a great staff who is always very friendly and helpful. Make sure to make your follow up's right after your appointment since it may be hard to get on a last minute basis. I recommend Dr.Kurucz to whoever is in need of a rheumatologist.

Dr. Kurucz is an amazing Doctor! He is caring and compassionate! He is an expert in his field! He listens carefully! I have been going to him for over three years now! He monitors my Lupus closely! When My Mom passed he really reached out to me! Daniella did too! His staff is always so nice to me! I recommend him to anyone in need of a great Doctor!

Dr. Oliver is a caring, astute diagnostician. From my first appointment he impressed me with his knowledge and listening skills. He truly works with me to reach treatment goals. I never feel rushed or like a number in his office.

From the moment I called the office (based on a recommendation) I felt I was being taken care of. During our first appointment Dr Kurucz took his time, and made me feel as though he truly cared.
