Dr. Patrick Matthew Curlee SR., MD

My appointment earlier this week was the first with Dr. Curlee and from the time I walked in at the service desk, I was received with professionalism and a smile to the nurse taking me to the room to document my medical history then the quick efforts to x-ray me and ultimately meeting Dr. Curlee for which treated me like he’d been knowing me for years and wanted to treat my ailments in the best way possible. Dr. Curlee gave me options of how to treat my injury and his recommendations based on my body and x-ray results not the generic response that’s been given to me by the many medical professionals I’ve seen in the past. Dr. Curlee made me feel comfortable, his bedside manner was impressive which in-turn allowed me to trust his recommendations even more.

Dr. Curlee is treating me for spinal stenosis, arthritis, disc issues, and other conditions of my back. I have had 4 nerve blocks this year which aren’t helping. My only option now is surgery. I trust him completely to perform that surgery.

I rated this office a five from the front desk to getting back to see the doctor. The staff was just on point. Being greeted with a smile from everyone make you feel love and with the doctor coming in and sitting down with you explaining to you what’s going on and what options can be done to make you feel better and try to get you comfortable as possible. Most doctors come in and ask you what’s wrong get out there little pad write you a prescription and send you on and to the next patient but not Dr. Curlee he was hands on. Hat off to Dr Curlee and Staff!

Dr. Curlee is efficient and thoughtful. Especially in explaining my condition and in answering questions. My last visit was with Nurse Practitioner Dr. Amy Roskos. She has been with the practice 14 years. She too was personable and well versed in my MRI and my condition. An excellent visit that gives me confidence in any recommended treatments.

Ordered an MRI on my lower back and based off is review of the results performed a nerve block at L3. The nerve block did little to resolve my pain issue. Return visit after the nerve block was with his nurse practitioner. Wanting to schedule spinal fusion surgery. Followed up elsewhere for SI joint injections which his office did not offer. Received relief for about 6 weeks. Decided to look for a 2nd opinion when the pain in discomfort returned. 2nd opinion found on real issues with my lower spine and definitely did not recommend fusion surgery. Do not doubt he may be a very skilled surgeon, just not impressed with how my situation was handled.

I am always hesitant (due to some horrific experiences elsewhere) to see the nurse practitioner. However, Dr. C's nurse practitioner is truly a part of the team and does an awesome job! I was so very relieved after speaking with her. Dr. Curlee is very personable as well and so is his front desk personnel.

This review will probably be hidden, but he turned my bill over to collections without notifying me. I am 61 years old soon to be on disability and have never had a credit issue but now he has ruined my credit.

Dr. Curlee and his staff are amazing. Very professional and empathetic to the different needs each patient experiences. I was seen by two different orthopedic specialists prior to Dr. Curlee, from two well known groups in the Memphis area. He not only listens to my concerns but actually fixed problems the prior two physicians created during surgeries. I have complete confidence in Southern Spine Specialist and will recommend them to anyone.

BAD doctor

He sent me away saying I was fully fused & after yrs of terrible pain I went to several nueros & found out I never fused. Did more research & found a top doc & redid my fusion w success. Whish I would have never let curlee touch me. After my surgery he had his new nurses look over me, then sent me away. Lot of pain I shouldn't have gone through & now I have so much scare tissue from 4 diff surgeries, 2 from him, I now know who the "caring docs" are. Get several diff opinions before your sugery, esp something as major as a spinal fusion!
