Dr. Paul Robert Alongi, MD

Dr. Alongi was the one who did my revision surgery. I had a previous surgery years ago from another physician that was, to say in the nicest way, done incorrectly and unsatisfied. Dr. Alongi fixed my back and improved my life greatly. I can not thank the man enough for what hes done for me. also one of the nicest caring men I've ever met. he is softspoken, kind and caring

He's a great doctor

Dr Alongi is an excellent doctor. I've been to many spine surgeons on Long Island and also NYC. By far, Dr Alongi was the best surgeon I encountered. He has a pleasant bedside manner and was able to diagnose my condition quickly. I subsequently went on to have surgery with Dr Alongi which is the best decision I ever made. I am back to all of my activities including golf and dancing. I wish I would have met Dr Alongi sooner.

I waited over an hour, sitting w/ terrible sciatic pain. Each time I approached the front desk to ask "when?" they answered rudely and sent me back to my seat like a 1st grader. When they finally brought me back it seemed the drs. were just chatting w/ each other while a roomful of (many elderly) patients just waited endlessly. He gave me an accurate dx of spinal stenosis. He had very little to say in the way of explanation. No bedside manner. I have found a gifted, lovely doctor at Lenox Hill. He will do my surgery.

Dr.Alongi saved my life. I had a very bad car accident, which I was very hurt, my lower back. Dr. Alongi did surgery on me, my lower lumbar was corrected, and because of him, I can walk.Thank you Dr. Alongi.

Dr. Alongi is first and foremost a kindhearted gentleman who speaks to his patients calmly and listens with open ears. I am quite petite so Dr. Alongi adjusted his body language and made himself shorter so he could make professional eye contact with me. I had a previous fusion done by another surgeon (whom I will not mention) that did not turn out well. Less than a year after the first surgery I was having complications. My original surgeon was rude and curt with me and brushed off my pain as "studying the wrong way." As anyone that suffers from back or neck pain hearing such an unscientific diagnosis made me feel disheartened. I immediately ended my patient/doctor relationship and requested another surgeon. From the get go Dr. Alongi was spot on with his diagnosis and order the proper tests to prove his theories. He also directed me to all other necessary doctors. After having one surgery I did not want to have another. Dr. Alongi didn't want the same for me as well so he tried every… form of conservative therapy for months. We both knew it was time for a second surgery after lack of improvement. I felt absolutely confident that he was the proper surgeon. The surgery went great and I was kept very comfortable and pain free in the hospital but most importantly at home. My after care treatment was wonderful. I am still in physical therapy and slowly getting better. God bless Dr. Alongi!
