Dr. Peter Joseph Ochoa, MD

Dr. Ochoa is like no doctor I've ever been to. I always felt as though I was his only patient he had to see. Never rushed. All questions answered to my satisfaction. My heart breaks that he has been dismissed from Summit Medical. I read why they dismissed him and it seems to be a fairly petty reason. A simple reprimand should have been all that was necessary. But, no. They who apparently are more saintly than he; pushed out one of Summit Medical's best doctors. Out of necessity, I've had to find another doctor. I'm old and do have to have a doctor to go to. He was, and still is, the best. God bless him. And God forgive Summit Medical for dismissing him. They knew not what they did.

Dr. Ochoa has been my doctor since 2011. I am so saddened to hear of his resignation. He was caring, he listened and he took his time. I never felt rushed during my appointments. Wherever you are Dr. Ochoa, please reach out to all of your supporters, we want to follow you. Peggy N

Dr Ochoa has been my Dr since I moved here 3 years ago. He is a caring and compassionate Dr who genuinely cares for his patients and listens to them. I was devastated to receive a message in the portal he resigned. If he ever starts a new practice I will go to him. There are no other Dr's willing to listen to you like he does. There should be more Dr's like him, more patients would be helped if there were.

Dr. Ochoa has been my doctor for many years. His compassion and perspicacity were both exceptional. I am very upset that he has resigned, and also that Summit Health sent such a curt and unfeeling note about his resignation. They show no loyalty to a doctor that has served his patients so well for so long. I will not choose Summit Health as my health care provider from this point.

Dr. Ochoa had been in practice four months when he became my family doctor and later became my wife's family doctor. I give him the highest rating possible and would follow him if he were in another practice locally. He is the best!

I was devastated to hear he was leaving. I wish I knew where he moved to. He was the only doctor I have ever met that I felt actually cared about my well being. I hope he is alright. Maybe only taking a sabbatical.

We credit him with not blowing off my husbands symptoms and in the end saved his life. Broken hearted he is no longer there. We would follow him if he is still in the area but have no clue where he went. We wish him all the best.

Dr. Ochoa has always been an excellent, understanding and on target caregiver. With a brief, often witty, chat.... sometimes just a glance or a touch.... he could diagnose what was going on with my health issues. Not sure whether his resignation is something needing prayer and concern or good wishes and congratulations. Just saddened to hear he is “moving on” as I would have gladly switched locations to keep him as a physician. Shocked at the somewhat terse notice and disappointed.

I was with his when he's had to break the news to three of my dearest and closest family members including my parents and spouse that they were dying. When Summit IMA still made hospital rounds he was in the hospital about 5:30 am, seeing patients from 6:00 during rounds, putting in a full practice day at the office, and I saw him in the hospital Lobby at 8:30pm fixing to go home several times. I don't know the circumstance of his resignation but unfortunately doctors today are under enormous stress and unprecedented legal scrutiny not to mention insurers pressures with HMO's playing doctor as well. I hope he continues to practice and finds a new location. He will be missed. Thank you Dr. Ochoa for all you did for me and my family. May the Lord be with you.
