Dr. Peter Michael Waters, MD

My granddaughter was born in 2011 with the inability to bend her elbows (arthrogryposis). We called several specialists who said nothing could be done for her. Then we took her to Boston where Dr. Waters determined that he could help her and that she was a candidate for surgery. Today she can bend her elbows enough to feed herself, comb her hair, brush her teeth and blow her nose. I cannot say enough wonderful things about Dr. Waters and the difference he has made in my granddaughter's life.

Dr. Waters operated on me 3 times as a kid. I had SCFE in both hips. He was kind, patient and made me feel brave despite being a child who was petrified of needles. I know others who had SCFE that have limps and other issues but not me. He did an amazing job. Best part is years later I took my daughter there for a broken arm and even though I was grown and he hadn't seen me in a decade, he remembered me.

When I was born, I suffered from a brachial plexus injury and the doctors told my parents that it would fix itself, which it didn't and I have had Erb's Palsy my entire life. I had two surgeries when I was an infant to help with my injury and years of physical therapy, but I still had very limited motion of my left arm. When I was seven I went to go see Dr. Waters, traveled almost 300 mi, to see if there was anything that he could do to give me more mobility. Yes, I had to wait a long time before seeing him, but he knew exactly what to do with me. After my surgery, I was able to move my arm in ways that I couldn't imagine possible. I thought I would only gain the ability to do certain things, but instead I gained almost full mobility of my arm. This was something my parents and I could only dream of. I am going back to Dr. Waters to see if there is anything else he can do for me, but I owe almost everything to him. I am a musician and play both guitar and piano, but I would not be able… to do either without the surgery he performed. Now I am thinking about majoring in music and being a professional singer/songwriter. That wasn't an option for me before his surgery. So when I see people writing reviews that bash him, I get a little upset because I could not have asked for a better doctor or surgeon. If you are considering bringing your child to see him, I encourage you to do so because he changed my life, and he could change your child's too.

Dr. Water's screwed up my son's surgery. I had to have another doctor fix the issue. Thanks for nothing!

Dr. Waters is what every physician should be: knowledgeable, skilled, and compassionate. We traveled over 1,000 miles to take our daughter to him. It was the best decision we've ever made as parents. Yes, you might have to wait in his office, but considering the severity of conditions most of his patients have it should be expected.

I can't say enough about him and the quality of his expertise in treating my daughters volkmann's ischemic contracture. He's the best pediatric orthopedic in the country!

Maybe others have had better luck but I waited > 2 hrs and he did not even examine my daughter thoroughly...needed an OT to tell me what was really going on
