Dr. Phillip Joseph Gaca, DO

My husband has been a patient of Dr. Gaca for over 20 years now. At that time, it was a stand alone primary care practice with a PA and full staff. Affiliated with Metro, but still stand alone. We have seen the doctor dozens of times over the years for general check ups, lab work, diagnostics, medications and more. The doctor is always quick, but thorough. His staff is polite and friendly. In the last year the practice has transitioned to a MD VIP concierge style practice affiliated with The Cleveland Clinic. There is more emphasis on yearly testing, early diagnosing, quick treatment and healthy living. So...prevention vs. post care treatment when you can. The PA who used to be there left, miss her a lot - she was great. But, most of the rest of the staff is still there and the place functions seamlessly. We feel with the new set up there is fewer patients and more time with those left (as it costs more now to be a patient there). We like having more openings to see the Dr. and more… time when we do see him. We are happy with our care and know that no medical establishment is perfect. But, we feel our labs our reviewed, issues called out and treatment done as soon as possible. My husband is a complex patient with many chronic conditions so, we can say our care has been solid throughout the years and remain with him. Dr. Gaca and his team have been good for us. Thank you.

Dr. Gaca is great!! His office staff is great. Liz at the check-out window is fantastic and always has a smile on her face and always tells the patient's to have a great day!! Lisa at the check-in window is extremely rude and I sometimes overhear her talk crap about patients.

He will take the time to make sure you are okay

We love Dr. Gaca - we've been going to him for years - he has taken care of all of our kids and us. I appreciate his honesty and down to earth style as we've worked through our various medical issues over the years.

I have trusted his judgement for my care but it has become very difficult to get in to see him, even though when I do go into his office there is nobody there. it seems the office staff rules the place they even tell you what to do for your symptoms when you tell them what they are instead of letting you see the doctor. I have no idea when they went to medical school or who gave them the right to make these decisions. I am very frustrated and looking for another doctor after almost 30 years with this doctor, I cant stand the girls in the office, they are so rude.

He's been our family doctor for many years. Caring, competent, compassionate.

Great doctor office! Very thorough.

The experience was shocking. I went in as a new patient, and filled out all the paperwork. Then on the form I explained that I had hurt my back at work, and needed to visit my family physician. After 45 minutes, a woman came into the room. She became very accusational, her eyes got watery - and she made me leave the office. I told her my injury happened at work, and I had the paperwork to verify everything needed. She told me "Why should I even trust you, I don't even know who you are." Asked her, "Are you telling me the Doctor won't treat me as a patient after waiting a week to get in - having insurance and an injury. She said no. Was watery eyed and crazy acting." Never experienced anything like this before in my life, avoid going through what just happened to me if you are a new patient.

I have been going to Dr. Gaca for a few years and its because of willingness to listen, his thoroughness and his staff that I continue at his office.
