Dr. Kokinos and Dr. Pineda both performed vein ablation on both of my legs and did a great job. Though Dr. Kokinos had to do a second operation on my right leg at my request, everything turned out the way I was hoping it would. The whole staff before and after the surgery were very nice and helpful. Ron M.

I first saw Dr. Kokinos after complaining to my wife about how badly my legs cramped up every time I went golfing. At first, the leg cramps were not that bad, but then every time I walked more than 10 minutes my legs started to ache, get heavy and then really cramp up. Dr Kokinos saw me in her office and explained that I was suffering from something called Claudication, a form of peripheral arterial disease (PAD). During my first appointment Dr. Kokinos had her wonderful Ultrasound Tech, Debbie, scan my legs to confirm her diagnosis and saw that my blood vessels were really constricted. A few days later Dr. Kokinos performed a short outpatient procedure where she placed stents into my right leg. A month later I was back on the golf course and my legs no longer hurt. Thank you Dr Kokinos for taking such great care of me so that I could get back to doing something that I love.

She was the best, I am so happy that Dr. Kokinos helped save my legs.

Everyone is very professional but friendly and caring. Dr. Kokinos even callled me after my procedure to see how I was doing. They do everything to make you comfortable and I was pleased with the results. I would highly recommend Dr. Kokinos and her office.

I had the vein collapse procedure done on both legs; upon my initial referral/visit , a colleage of Dr. K's intereviews you to determine if your needs can be met by their office; etc. On your 2nd visit, you then see Dr. K who finalizes the procedure and explains things to you. On the day of the procedure (one leg at a time) you are given pain killers and something to knock you out a bit, by mouth. So while you are on the table , you are sitll aware of conversations and some sensations. Dr. K and her assistant talked to each other the whole time and rarely did Dr. K ask me anything; but seem to just be routinely doing her thing. the follow up visits are countless and tiresome as they involve getting leg sonograms repeatedly. My legs don't look great, but more red and spidery rather than the thick blue veins, though I still have those too. One leg has a circular 'burn' mark from where she over-lasered that section. No, I didn't go back to show her, because I feel they will pressure… to have me pay for cosmetic treatment done on it; as if the burn was a natural occurance during the procedure. I'm hoping over time, that burn patch will fade, but its been one year now, looks the same. Sure she's experienced but it starts to seem routine and long drawn out; there doesn't seem to be a need to get weekly leg sonograms after the first one or two; once you're in their grip, they seem to want to keep you in it.

Dr. Kokinos was the only doctor willing to try an angioplasty on my 82 year old mother. Risky decision given the looks of the arteries in her leg. But with Dr. Kokinos skill and monitoring, the operation has been a success with continued good blood flow to the leg/foot.Thank you so much!

Dr. Kokinos was on call when I went to the ER with constipation. It turned out to be a ruptured aortic aneurysm. She was called in late on Friday night, and spent most of the night operating on and taking care of me. She actually had me transferred to another hospital that she thought was better at taking care of patients with my problem. Although most patients with a ruptured aneursym die either before they reach the hospital, or on the operating room table, because of the skill and dedication of Dr. Polyxene Kokinos and her team, I went home in about a week, just in time to celebrate my birthday. What can you say about someone who literally saves your life? Thank you.

My visit to Dr. Kokinos' office was an excellent one! I took my mother in to see her because of an open wound on her leg due to bad circulation and vein problems. Although my mother doesn't speak English both the staff and especially the doctor were very patient with her and even polite. Dr. Kokinos spent a lot of time explaining the treatment and how it works. She was very attentive e to my mother and made her feel comfortable. She helped tremendously with my mother's leg pain and we have seen a huge improvement and my mom is doing very well now, all because of Dr. Kokinos' help.

My overall experience with Dr. Kokinos has been excellent. In this day and age it is hard to find such a qualified AND caring doctor. I am very happy with the results of my treatment and would highly recommend Dr. Kokinos to any of my friends and family.

I have suffered for 5 years with terrible vericose veins. My legs constantly ached, felt heavy, and kept me awake at night. Unsure of what to do I visited several "vein" specialists in the area only to discover that many doctors who claimed to be vein doctors were actually trained in another medical subspecialty and were doingVein work to supplement their incomes. Especially disturbing was when two of these so called vein "specialists" actually started bad mouthing other doctors in the area and referred me to a web site called YELP. After reading some of these YELP reviews it became clear to me that this doctor was actually asking their patients to write scathing and derogatory remarks about other doctors to make themselves look legitimate. Unfortunately Yelp is nothing more than an uncensored platform for the uneducated and uninformed to gripe about and seek to destroy the reputation of skilled physicians to further their own agendas. A web site originally designed to critique… restaurants was now being used in an attempt to discredit doctors. I was distraught at this finding.Dr Kokinos, unlike any other so called "vein" specialist in the south bay is the only board certified vascular surgeon in the area. To the educated consumer, vascular surgeons spend their careers studying Venous and arterial diseases. They are board certified surgical specialists with a complete understanding of veins. No other doctor so called vein specialist can make this claim.In the end, Dr Kokinos not only completely Treated my medical condition but was the consummate professional every step of the way. Do yourself and read unfiltered public bulletin boards with a large dose of skepticism and doubt. Dr Kokinos is the best of the best. You will be treated with dignity respect and most importantly, you will get the best treatment found anywhere.
