Dr. Randall Brian Rigdon, MD

My wife and I have been very pleased with the thorough work up that Dr. Rigdon and staff have done. We have completed all of the recommended tests and now are ready for our consultation regarding the treatment plan. My wife’s appointment was today at 11:15. Last night, we had a death in the family, and our morning was consumed with arrangements, airline reservations,etc. We arrived for the appointment at exactly 11:27 (13 minutes late). We were informed that we had been declared a “no show” and would need to re-schedule, and there were no appointments available for six weeks. What is so ironic is that this medical practice is actually advertised as a “walk-in” clinic, and at that time, there was no in the waiting room. My consultation appointment is later this week. I considered canceling it, but my wife’s cooler head prevailed. I hope no emergency occurs to make me 13 minutes late, and I wonder if I should consider the doctor a “no show” if I have to wait in the reception area for 13… minutes to see him? I know that there are emergencies and that scheduling is difficult, but emergencies can occur on both sides. Therefore, there needs to be some understanding and consideration on both sides. I am a retired physician myself and do know a little bit about these types of situations. I would like to think that I included sensitivity in the prerequisites for hiring an employee and that there was some sensitivity training in their continuing education. Because I do understand the difficulties in managing a busy practice and the necessity for deligating responsibilities, I felt I could still give the practice a Three Star rating in spite of the incident today. I hope, as my and my wife’s medical care continues, I do not regret that decision and that I can even give a higher rating later. I doubt that this review will be read or be of benefit to anyone or cause any changes in any behavior, but writing it sure has made me feel better.

I have been a patient there, and have never seen Him...just the Physician Assistant. He must be out playing golf everytime I visit.
