Dr. Reed Leighton Harned, MD

They (Dr. Harned and Ryleigh Brookes, PA) perscribed a drug to me and when I asked about its side effects. She stated in writing "You should take it in the evening for optimum benefit. There should be no side effects." There was no other context. That was it. So when I did a quick search there were over 50 side effects...some seriuos -- to many to list here. OH IT GETS BETTER... so when I asked why they told me I should not experience any side effects, Dr. Harned did not answer and I recieved a certified letter a few weeks later stating that "the physicians at White-Wilson (I am assuming this is ALL PHYSICIANS as stated) will no longer participate in my medical care based on the unacceptable behavoir I displayed when I recently contacted the clinic". Wow. I ASKED A QUESTION! This guy is a pill pushing, unengaged, walking liabilty so please avoid at all costs. I asked 3 time for Dr. Harned to call me before I posted this. Crickets.

My issue is more with the way the office is run than my experience with Dr. Harned, but his office is a big part of the equation. I was charged last year for an extended visit (45+ min) when in reality I spent maybe 10-15 min with the doctor, rather than as an annual visit which is covered by my insurance. It took a lot of calls and effort to have it resolved. This year I was charged for an annual visit and an office visit (2 charges on the same day). I don't understand why. They billed $457 for my visit (approx 10-15 min with Dr. Harned). I understand this is not what they receive in payment, but again, I've found it difficult to reach the office and talk to somebody about it, or to even get a callback. I've also found it very difficult to reach his nurse. Without going into details, I've found getting a callback or follow-through painful. I'm talking multiple calls over days/weeks to no avail. This may be a White Wilson issue; I don't know, but I've given up and I'm looking for a new… primary in the area which is not something I want to waste time & effort doing.

Worst experience every by a so called "doctor". He was verbally abusive and his documentation of the visit was a complete lie. In my book, as a health professional myself, this man is guilty of both malpractice (falsifying records) and negligence (ignoring a medical emergency). When I complained.... I was dropped as a patient.

I have a lot of doctors and Dr. Harned is my favorite. He spends time with me and is very thorough in his diagnose, asking questions, etc. Super nice guy, too. His office staff is great as well. The review categories and ratings are misleading. A lower rating in Ease of Appt, Promptness and Follows Up usually means that a doctor spends time with his/her patients and is also in demand by patients. That is true of Dr. Harned.

I have been a patient for over 19 years, and I am highly impressed with services received. Doctor Harned is very knowledgeable and has continued to provide superb care to me. I have been given appointments on same day when needed.

I really like Dr. Harned. He takes his time with me & explains everything to me. I have never had a problem with him.

Thought things were going well with this doctor until I was ignored for 3 days when in need of medication refill. Upon expressing my frustration on the 4th day the doctor came on the phone and dis-engaged me from his practice. This is unacceptable behavior if he is my doctor. I expect more promt service than this.
