I saw Dr Anderson-Cowell for an allergic reaction I was having. I usually do not have allergies so I had to see a specialist. My first apt went fine and they didn’t find anything but Dr. Anderson-Cowell was supposed to contact my Oncologist since I was receiving a trial drug to check on the possibility of that being the cause of my allergic reaction. Weeks pass and I email her office to ask on the progress or if she was able to reach my oncologist. I did not receive a reply. I emailed once again, nothing. I reached out to my primary doctor for another allergist referral. She offered to reach out to Dr. Anderson-Cowell, I thankfully agreed. That is when I received a message from Dr. Anderson-Cowell’s office to make another apt. I made the apt and took off from work to go. I checked in 10 minutes early and sat down. After 25 minutes past my apt time I went up to the counter and asked how much longer would it be or how far behind is the doctor. The woman left and came back with no answer. She could not tell me an ETA but she offered me to reschedule. I declined it since I already was there and took off work, which costs me money and was not about to do this again. I sat down and waited and waited. An hour past my apt time someone finally calls my name. I was put behind a curtain in a room in the hallway by the examination rooms. They took my vitals and left me there for another 15-20 min or so. I heard the doctors and assistants/nurses talk about other patients and I was uncomfortable. I waited until a room was available. I finally got in the room and waited more. Dr. Anderson-Cowell came in and gave me her best reason why I was having an allergic reaction. She did speak to my oncologist and they both agreed. I started to ask questions because I did not feel their diagnosis was correct. She did not have good answers for my questions and even interrupted me a few times when I tried to ask more questions. She dismissed me as a patient and disrespected me by not letting me talk or ask questions. The entire interaction took less than 5 min. I waited almost an hour and half for an answer I do not agree with as well as her unprofessional response to my questions.
I would not recommend this doctor.

The doctor left all the work up to the assistant and only spent 10 minutes with me after making me wait for an hour. Would not recommend this doctor.

I was prompted by the person who gives my son allergy shots that we should come in for a follow up on his allergies. I set up the appointment. That day we then waited over an hour, no acknowledgement or apology was made. I was told there wasn't enough time to re-test. I asked if we could at least start so one test was done. He had no reaction. I was told to return in a year. I was confused as I got very little information that wasn't rushed. I called the office to get a second opinion from another doctor. Dr. Anderson-Cowell's NP returned my call and suggesting I "look online if I want more information". The whole appointment took almost two hours & I was struck by the consistent patronizing attitude.

Dr. Cowell managed to make it to my appointment 1 hr and 10 minutes late (only after I tracked down a nurse in the hallway explaining I needed to get back to work). It was my first time meeting her (I previously saw a doctor in the same office who passed away). No apology on her tardiness whatsoever. She also had a scribe with her taking all of her notes, so I'm not sure why there would be such tardiness since she clearly isn't making the chart notes. I have been going to allergists for 20+ years and never did I feel so unimportant to a doctor. She did not go over the breathing tests the nurse had me do prior to her arrival. No mention of them. Also, she clearly did not review my chart before the appointment as she had no idea of prior history and said she'd request the records (which were already requested and in the file - done by my prior doctor at the same office). I specifically requested my inhaler (which I take daily) be filled in 3 month increments. When I arrived at the pharmacy, this had been sent over as a 1 month prescription. She said maybe my next appointment we could discuss things further when I had more time (time which was wasted WAITING on her). Prepare for a 3 hour slot in your schedule to get your 10 minutes with this "doctor". Even in prescriptions she didn't get it right. I would NEVER recommend her to anyone and do not trust her advice or judgement. Only plus to the appointment was the nice, knowledgeable nurse.
