His preop care and thorough explanations to me and my husband, OR day's experience at Mercy Hospital with nurses and anesthesiologist were beyond expected (speaking as a retired RN). The outcome after surgery for vaginal prolapse has been life changing. I had forgotten what it is like to void normally! I am so grateful to all who cared for me in August 2024.

Dr. Ellerkmann is an exceptionally fine physician, and I recommend him without reservation. It is unusual to find a doctor who excels at both the surgery and the (often more important to patient satisfaction) pre- and post-op care. Dr. Ellerkmann never made me feel rushed or as if my questions and concerns were absurd or unnecessary. I'm not entirely sure why he chose the field he did (urology, pelvic reconstruction, etc.), but it definitely wasn't for squeevy reasons. I didn't get the same reassuringly "normal" vibe from some of the other doctors I considered for my surgery, and it was a relief and a true pleasure to find Dr. Ellerkmann. His office in Lutherville-Timonium is well-run, and Mercy Hospital was a delightful surprise as well. More to the point, perhaps, I'm v. happy with my actual surgical results. Everything proceeded exactly as Dr. Ellerkmann predicted, recovery timelines and all. He gets my highest recommendation -- something I give neither lightly nor frequently.

I highly recommend Dr. Ellerkmann not only for his very knowledge and understanding of my condition but also for his very kind treatment. He made my overall-all quality of life so much better.

I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Ellerkmann. I was referred by my gyn. at home as my operation was beyond his expertise. I wish Dr. E had a practice near us as I would use him all the time. He was so compassionate, sweet, caring, humorous, and great at what he does. The operation went well and I had no problems after, in fact I feel much better. He even called my hubby when he finished the surgery and called to check on me after I got home. He went beyond what we expected. I would recommend him to everyone and wouldn't hesitate to use him again. He is a great doctor and human being. He is one of the best doctors I have ever dealt with and I have had many as I am 72 years old and used to work as a medical secretary so I have seen many doctors, he is right up at the top. I can't thank him enough.

If you decide to trust Dr Ellerkmann with your medical needs, you will be in expert hands. He will guide you safely through your experience in spite of the inept condition of our country's medical system. In my case, my insurance which was always there for me in the past, stood between me and my surgery for prolapsed bladder. I was discouraged and thought I had to wait in spite of my symptoms, but Dr. Ellerkmann worked with the insurance even to the point where he wrote an appeal for me and got my surgery approved. I would have liked a more relaxed timing in my appointments with him, but more importantly, once the procedure started both Dr. Ellerkmann and Mercy Hospital gently brought me through the surgery experience without even the smallest sense of neglect or distrust to worry me. I have learned to have every faith in his decisions and abilities as my doctor, and in carefully following his instructions I have had a smooth recovery.
