Richard Koppe Hoy, MD

I saw Dr. Hoy for the first time with a severed Achilles tendon, left leg. The second time for an ACL replacement, right knee. The third time for a total right hip replacement. I have always found Dr. Hoy to be an honest and an upfront man. He explains his decisions but always leaves the final call to you. I have the highest regard for him and the hospital in Batavia.

I have been seeing Dr. Hoy for close to 20 years for my knees. He has always been kind, empathic, compassionate, and upfront with my diagnosis. If he feels his patients are of a higher risk, and would be better served in the city, he will tell you so. This would be due to the city hospitals having enhanced equipment, better diagnostic tools, and other specialists being readily available on a minutes notice in case of trouble. Dr. Hoy is like the guy next store, but on a professional level. Love him!

He is most likely an excellent surgeon. However the communication that exists in his office, which includes him, is atrocious. I could have lost my job while he, his np, and numerous other staff gave me different times to return to work and under different conditions. No one had a clear and concise answer. I saw this physician in the emergency room so my choices were extremely limited(it was a holiday) but if I was having planned surgery, I would most likely choose some one else.

I love dr hoy, he is the best

Dr. Hoy is a quiet individual with a singular focus on his patient. He listens and gives good counsel. He looks out for what is the best solution for you, which may be to just strengthen muscles around a damaged knee joint rather than operate. I trust him.

Took all the time I needed. Recommend him to anyone.
