Dr. Richard Louis Alexander II, MD

It would be impossible to express my gratitude for the care I received by Dr. Alexander during my recent twin pregnancy. Learning we were having twins was one of the great surprises of my life, and Dr. Alexander made me feel comfortable about it the entire pregnancy. He was caring, understanding, and always put my mind at ease. I desired to have a vaginal birth, and he is one of only a small few doctors willing to deliver one of the babies breech. My second baby was breech, and had I been with nearly any other doctor, I would have been required to have a c-section. Dr. Alexander is trained in and highly experienced with vaginal twin deliveries and breech deliveries. He calmed all of my fears about induction and the birth, and answered my many questions with gentle care and consideration. The day I had my babies, it was like watching a master at his craft getting the breech baby turned and in a position to be delivered. It was my easiest delivery yet. I have tremendous regard for the… 30+ years of experience, knowledge, and personal character and integrity of Dr. Alexander. I cannot with more enthusiasm recommend him and his incredibly friendly and professional office for any OB/GYN care—especially if you are pregnant with twins.

I have been going to Dr. Alexander for about 20 years and he has always been professional, helpful, compassionate and he is a good listener. He's the best!

Dr. Alexander is not only a great doctor, but also a very caring human being: in a difficult worrisome situation for my family, he put our needs and piece of mind before his own. Being completely booked around the holidays, he scheduled a procedure during his own lunch time so that we could have piece of mind and not worry too much. I had pretty bad experience with this doctor. First of all the office would not make a new patient appointment before dr. Alexander reviews your application; second if you choose not to do an optional procedure he will just terminate the treatment.

I am so glad I picked Dr. Alexander four years ago to be my ob doctor for our son and once again for our second little boy. The office staff, from Julie at the front desk, the nurse Jamie, and back office staff Judy - they are wonderful! I have always felt welcome and comfortable and always receive the best care. I am so grateful and feel really lucky to have Dr. Alexander take such good care of our babies and welcome them into this world. He is the most caring and understanding doctor I have ever had the chance of experiencing. Dr. Alexander is the best doctor on the Monterey Peninsula - without a doubt!

Overall Dr. Alexander is really not only an excellent physician but an amazing human being.If you read about him on his website-alexobgyn.com it explains a lot about him and the extra humanitarian things that he is involved in as well as his church affiliations. From my conversations with him, he seems very family oriented and enthusiastic about what he does for a living.Some appointments are better than others, but girls remember that he delivers babies in the middle of the night and hes only human! Wouldn't you be tired sometimes too?As for the most recent posting. I do not believe that he is anti military. In fact, he himself comes from an air force background. As I remember, his father was air force. I am tricare, and haven't had any issues related to that. Perhaps this person is jumping to a conclusion? Anyhow, having called around to other offices it seems standard to fill out paperwork and that the Doctor will review it.I was told this when calling other offices.He is very… knowledgable and always makes me feel very comfortable. I surely feel that I am in good hands here and I would recommend this practice highly.

After I was diagnoised with Stage IV Colon Cancer, I was referred to see Dr. Alexander as I had fibroid tumors that needed to be check up on and watched. Through all my cancer treatments, he consulted with all my doctors (and there were quite a few) and was a great team player in my recovery. I enjoy my visits with him, am very comfortable and confident that he is above and beyond a typical OBGYN. I have heard so many wonderful stories from women who had no hope of having Children until they visited Dr. Alexander...now they are proud happy parents! He's is a special man who loves his job and is always there for anything you need. After my last OBGYN and his mis-diagnois of Cancer, I am in heaven knowing Dr. Alexander would and will do everything possible should you feel there is a problem. This is someone you want on your side.

A few years ago I was attempting a homebirth and had complications. We were extremely fortunate that Dr. Alexander was in the ER when we went to CHOMP. His quickness and pre-preparation of the operating room while we were en route in the ambulance saved our baby. The C section was done in 8 minutes, and even under all that pressure, he was kind and patient at the bedside, listened to my demands/concerns and was totally professional. If I have another child I will go to him.

Dr. Alexander flawlessly delivered two of my three sons. If I knew he could be my doctor again, we would definitely have a fourth child. When I found out I was pregnant with my third, we went straight back to his office. His staff is great, he is fabulous. We had a wonderful natural childbirth both times. Lots of laughter, encouragement and support from Dr. Alexander, my husband and the CHOMP staff. What a lovely experience at an exciting time in the life of a growing family!
