If I could give zero stars I would give. It was my first baby I could not have picked a worse dr, very impatient.

this doc really sucks

Ugh.. don’t know where to start, I went in to his office for pelvic pain he walked in talking so fast telling me he might have to Take off and leave soon due to a delivery, asked me what I was feeling as I started to describe the symptoms he seemed to be rushed and cut me off and checked my abdomen real quick said he didn’t notice any masses or hernias. but he did order me ultrasound so. At least I’ll be at ease once I get the results . I paid $40 for a 5 min visit, I took longer to get undressed then the time I spent talking with the doctor. Waiting on ultrasound results hopefully I can get my mind at ease then for sure since doctor didn’t do his job! To worried about the delivery he had to attend, Didn’t even bother to listen, made me drive 1 hour 30 mins for 5 min visit ???????

As a breast cancer survivor, I HAVE NEVER had a doctor perform a breast exam on me, wearing gloves, over my paper gown! Why even bother? I had been told I needed annual PAP smears by my previous OB/GYN doctor due to a previous abnormality. Due to insurance, I had to follow up with Dr. Shea who told me I did not need a PAP smear despite my explanations of previous history. He refused to do it. I went to another OB/GYN who agreed that I needed to be monitored closely for a period of time, did the PAP smear and found early cancer! I had a procedure to remove the suspicious area. Thank God I saw another doctor!! He barely made eye contact, didn't seem to care about anything I had to say, condescending and dismissive! He needs to find something else to do or retire!

Just don't......don't do it.... -you will thank me later

Love this doctor it was unfortunate that he had to leave Laredo he was one of the best

today I took my 16 year old foster daughter to get on birth control. I'm pretty patient and understanding, but Dr. Shae was very rude to my foster daughter. He was not kind to her at all. He came right into the room and asked why do you want to be on birth control. I was OK with that. Her response was normal for a teen. Instead of him sitting down, understanding her trauma history with abuse, drugs and sex he totally went off on her. Dr. Shae said things like I don't believe in birth control. I don't see why you are even having sex. why birth control. They cause you to gain weight, bleed more, your period will be off. if that's what you want then fine by me. She was made to feel embarrassed about her past by him without knowing or asking or listening to her. Dr. Shae if you ever read this, where was your compassion? your understanding? Do you know how much power, strength, courage my foster daughter is showing to want to use birth control? She used to not care! Her… life has already been complicated enough and she is already embarrassed to speak with Dr's and nurses and therapist. Dr. Shae you should not see teen girls if you are not going to learn how to speak to them. I don't know if you were speaking very loudly behind our closed door or when you stepped outside the room to bring her a form to sign did you insult me or my foster daughter to your staff! when we opened up the door to exit everyone turned and looked at us. My foster daughter was very much humiliated. I try to show respect to everyone and only asked a few of your staff was everything OK because you all are starring at us weirdly. I Dr. Shae had to hold my tongue for my foster daughters sake and for my own daughter who accompanied us also 16. My daughter had an appointment with you tomorrow. Dr. Shae she is not going on birt control because she is sexual. Her PCP referred her to see an obgyn for her heavy periods and bloating. Because you were so rude, fast talker and non caring, she asked if we could cancel her appointment, and I did. It is really sad that this is your field of practice and you may be good at it, but just like any other customer service job, customer service/treatment over rules all of that! Dr. Shae if you are tired then take a vacation. Your behavior was down right rude! I am very proud of my Teen girls for always showing responsibility, even if it's not what me as a parent is expecting or hoping forfor, that's the type of concern you should have shown today.

Great doctor and staff!

I'm disappointed, but not completely shocked to see that Dr. Shea's reviews aren't high. I know that his bedside manner isn't for everyone, but I can't say enough great things about him. I came to every appt. armed with a list of questions and he never made me feel bad or stupid about them and always answered each one thoroughly before we wrapped up. I went through multiple friendly Drs before seeing Dr Shea about my pregnancy. The others told me that, because of my large fibroids, I'd need a C-section. Only they didn't tell me much more. Dr. Shea sent me to have multiple ultrasounds to monitor my fibroids. He didn't promise me anything unrealistic, but let me know that natural delivery wasnt out of the question. When I expressed a concern about itchy hands (a symptom of Cholestasis that I'd found online), he let me know that it was a rare complication, but didn't hesitate to run the blood tests to put both our minds at ease. I went into labor 3 weeks early. Dr. Shea was… calm and professional as ever, which helped keep me calm and reassured. I delivered naturally, and now have a happy, healthy 18.5 lb 5 month old. :)

The first question out of this Doctor mouth was where did I buy my insurance? REALLY! While this Doctor is knowledgeable, he doesn't have enough compassion to even pretend he cares. I went to see him because he is Board Certified in Gynecology and I was having some issues due to menopause. His solution was to pawn me off on a General Practitioner. Needless to say, I'm done with him and my current insurance provider - Humana of Texas, who provides a sub-par pool of doctors in their HMO!
