Dr. Richard Allen Reutter, MD

I went to this doctor to help my young children who had special needs. I was beyond the understanding of how to help them. In about 5 min of the doctor meeting my children I had answers I was searching for! He is caring and wonderful with children. I would highly recommend him.

We met Dr. Reutter at MMC, as he was the physician who was treating my newborn daughter at the hospital. She was born with a jaw deformity, that fortunately, did not require surgery, but ensuring that she was getting enough nutrition was a high priority for me. Dr. Reutter is reassuring, supportive and knowledgeable. I find that his staff is very friendly, helpful & kind, which is important especially for a new mom! Anytime Iâ??ve called his office, they answer my questions or call me back before the end of the day with the information I requested. I never feel like I am bothering the staff with my requests...one time, I forgot my baby formula (sleep deprivation will do that to you!) and they were kind enough to provide me with some samples so that I didnâ??t have to run to the store. I think this is a great office and we are glad that Dr. Reutter and his staff are taking care of our family.

Our experience with the doctor was pleasant unfortunately his staff is terrible. I had to call on numerous occasions to get my child's bloodwork. My child was supposed to have an MRI done but because the office never submitted papers after being contacted about it many times, it was never done. I don't recommend this Dr because you will never get the best care for your child with an incompetent staff.

If I could give Dr. Rueter 5 more stars I would! He has such a gentle way about him. My son is now 4 months and just always seems so at ease with him. I highly recommend Dr. Rueter both he and his staff are beyond amazing!!!!!! LOVE THEM!!

With our first child on the way, my wife and I interviewed several Drs to find a pediatrician who we felt had the temperament and knowledge we required. Dr Reutter is extremely competent and accomplished - but we neglected to evaluate his staff as stringently. The staff was consistently disorganized, inept, rude, and the office was always in a state of disrepair and a dubious level of cleanliness - it was pervasive and constant enough that we stopped using him. Years after switching Drs, we had to do a consult with Dr Reutter for my son's school. We waited for 45 minutes before one of the school staff informed us that Dr Reutter wasn't coming, and that they were sorry his staff had neglected to inform them that he was unable to make the appointment. It's sad to see he still doesn't have a staff that reflects his level of quality.

DR. REUTTER IS AN EXCELLENT DOCTOR! HE IS CALM AND PATIENT WITH HIS PATIENTS AND YOU CAN TELL HE ABSOLUTELY LOVES DIAGNOSING AND HELPING OTHERS! EVEN BETTER, HE IS THE BEST I'VE SEEN IN HIS FIELD. HE WILL NOT PRESSURE YOU OR YOUR CHILDREN INTO ANY PARTICULAR TREATMENT AND TRULY OFFERS COMPREHENSIVE KNOWLEDGE REGARDING ALL ASPECTS OF TREATMENT OPTIONS. IF I WERE YOU, I'D ASK HIM SPECIFICALLY, "IF THIS WAS YOUR CHILD, WHAT WOULD YOU DO?" - AND THEN, LISTEN TO HIM!!!! HE IS EXTREMELY INTELLIGENT AND YOU WILL LEARN A LOT FROM HIM IF YOU LISTEN! AN ATTENTIVE DOCTOR THAT SPENDS TIME WITH HIS PATIENTS IS IN RARE FORM THESE DAYS...DR REUTTER DOES THINGS THE OLD FASHIONED WAY -BY TALKING TO HIS PATIENTS! HE DOESN'T NEED FANCY PDA'S OR DRUG REPS INFLUENCING HIM. ON THE CONTRARY, HE USES HIS PATIENTS (SYMPTOMS, BEHAVIORS, WORDS, ETC..) TO MAKE A SPOT-ON DIAGNOSIS ALONG WITH A PERSONALIZED TREATMENT PLAN THAT WORKS FOR HIM OR HER. SEE FOR YOURSELF -DR. REUTTER IS AN OUTSTANDING DOCTOR! I am not surprised to see the reviews concerning the staff! I am having the exact same experience. Very unprofessional!

I was so excited to finally find a doctor to help my DD. The staff does not return calls, or get your forms back to you for school or camps. a nightmare. But i have no other choice of doctors.

Dr. Reutter is the rare, wonderful doctor, who will patiently give your child a thorough exam while calming his fears. Dr. Reutter will explain his diagnosis and develop a treatment plan. However, prepare yourself to deal with a pleasant but totally incompetent staff when there is paperwork to complete, such as prescription renewals, school forms to fill out, or your insurance plan challenges/denies the medication. Multiple phone calls will be required because the staff does not return calls as promised. And in the time it takes to deal with all this will result in your child not getting his medication for 3 to 10 days.
