Dr. Richard Andrew Welk, MD

Let me begin by saying, I NEVER EVER write reviews. Unfortunately I consider them to be a time sucker for which I have very little of. Having said this I would personally like to say Dr. Welk is an unbelievable plastic surgeon with an outstanding sense of humor and a great bed side manner. His staff are among the finest and most considerate of any I've worked with. I was so impressed with this clinic I recommended Dr. Welk to my daughter, she was very pleased as well. I had only 2 weeks to get my medical team ready before I had to have my bilateral mastectomy. I made an appointment to see 4 different plastic surgeons, but after I sat down with Dr. Welk, I knew that he was the ONE. He was honest and upfront; he took time to explain everything. Unfortunately, I had huge setbacks through the procedures and I had to have extra surgeries, not anyoneâ??s fault. Just simply my body sucks at healing. Most people done with their construction surgery within 6 months, but mine is taking over a year and still not 100% done. I have 1 more surgery to go to make it perfect. Dr. Welk takes PRIDE in his work and he always take time to make sure that I understand my options and what needed to be done. He is SMART, Experienced and Funny (ok, he has dry sense of humor). I am GLAD that he is my doctor.

I went to Dr. Welk for a bilateral reconstruction based on referrals. I had a few setbacks through the procedures but he was always supportive, caring and kept me fully informed. He took the time to talk to me and ensure all my questions were answered. He was direct and knowledgeable. He knows what he is doing and takes pride in his work. His office is also very supportive. I am very happy with the end results and recommend him whole-heartedly.

I had a fantastic experience with Dr Welk. Amazing doctor, excellent bedside manner. Spent a long time listening to my concerns and answered each question I had comprehensively. I feel lucky to have had him operate on me. Best experience I've had - the whole team worked hard to put my fears to rest - easy surgery, easy recovery!

The doctor spent time with me but is not any better than others that I have visited for a difficult problem. Try the UW program instead.
