Dr. Robert Bruce Hodges, MD

My husband and I were both patients of Dr. Hodges for a number of years. After my cataract surgery (done by Dr Hodges) I had a great deal of vision loss. My husband was diagnosed with glaucoma but Dr. Hodges told him he was out of treatment options so his vision became severely degraded. Dr. Hodges seemed kind and personable but dismissed our concerns and told us there was nothing that could be done. Out of frustration about our continued vision loss, we set up an appointment with another ophthalmologist for a second opinion. She disagreed with Dr Hodges’ assessment - she immediately changed eye meds, provided lots of options, and much more hope, for saving our vision. Already we are seeing better, but unfortunately, you can’t turn back all the existing damage. We wasted much too much time and we lost way too much of our vision trusting Dr. Hodges.

I have to see him every six months for glaucoma. He is great. He listens and thanks to him the glaucoma is in check.

Dr. Hodges Is a patient and empathetic doctor who really takes the time to listen to your concerns, and give an accurate diagnosis. It is easy to see why he is in high demand. I have been immensely impressed with all of my experiences with the doctor over the years, and find him to be an excellent physician who is kind, caring, and considerate. His office staff are also lovely, always offering kind input as I try on glasses and sunglasses in their shop.

Dr. Hodges has been wonderful since the time I first learned that I had glaucoma at the young age of 25. He's spelled out the risks well, but also helped me feel confident that I can manage this condition and retain my vision for years to come.

Went to see this doctor with an eye infection. He insisted that it was allergies, put me on steroid eye drops four times in a row (1-2 weeks each time) and was completely dismissive when I pointed out that this wasn't working. He made sexist remarks and it was virtually impossible to get him to discuss a diagnosis or treatment plan with me (female). Finally went to see a different doctor who prescribed the antibiotics that made the infection go away.
