Dr. Robert Jay Huler, MD

Horrible physician with no bedside manner. My 16 year old daughter was seen for her pars defect (cracks in spine) and his verbal abuse was extremely alarming.

Fantastic! Dr. Huler performed my lower back surgery and the outcome was perfect. I would highly recommend Dr. Huler and his team for any back issues. Explained everything in detail, staff was flawless and my pain is forever gone. If you want your surgery done right Dr. Huler is your person. Thanks Dr. Huler for giving me my life back!

My husband had spine surgery and they had some problems getting his pain under control with Norco. They sent him home still in a lot of pain. Norco was barely helping. Dr. Huler sent him home with TYLENOL 3!!!!! It is not helping at all and is also cause bad acid reflux. My husband called the nurse and was told that Dr. Huler will not give him a different pain medication and to take ibuprofen. They also called in something for nausea. My husband is having ACID REFLUX...NOT NAUSEA!! It is breaking my heart to see him in so much misery. I will NEVER recommend OrthoIndy to anyone ever again! I will do my best to discourage anyone from going there!

This man told me one thing did another now I suffer daily

I had surgery with Dr Huler 5 years ago or so in 2013. I recommend him to anyone I hear having spinal issues. First impressions was a little whoa! He dont sugar coat anything but that's what I was looking for and didnt know it. I'm a semi pro race car driver and multiple doctors had told me I was done driving. More on a level as I shouldn't be doing it because it's dangerous. He asked me bluntly why I came to him. Told him I heard he could fix my issue. Said he could get me back in a car. Well 5 years later we've won multiple races and a championship. I owe it to Dr. Huler. He fused C6 and C7 in my neck and did a lower back surgery as well. Would recommend to most as long as they know hes not going to sugar coat anything.

I sought a second opinion from ortho indy and was scheduled with this gem of a physician. As if contemplating a possible spine fusion isn’t difficult enough. Ironically he didn’t agree with the first opinions j but still managed to make me feel like an idiot for requesting a second opinion, let alone asking him. I was told to quit asking questions and just go ‘live my life ‘. Wow. God forbid a patient tries to understand what is going on and why specialists in the field may disagree about the next course of treatment. I do not recommend this physician if you’re looking for a consultation. Perhaps he’s better with unconscious patients.

I have had 3 spine surgeries with Dr. Huler and all have been successful. His no-nonsense approach is very comforting and he is direct, and to the point. Each time prior to surgery, he told me exactly what he was going to do and the outcome was right target. The man improved my quality of life and I recommend him highly! Thank you Dr. Huler!

I was injured on my joh So it is who workman's compensation stated I had to see. I was in excellent health prior to my work related injury. Had worked out faithfully for 27 years. I have only ever been on medications for the usual. Kidney infection, one x, strep throat ones x, etc. I found dr huler to be arrogant, no bedside manner, didn't even go over my MRI, and exited the room. In his Final written release that was sent to me by my attorney, he wrote. I have big problems. How professional??? That he went over my big problems, educated me, gave me a copy of all, and sent all information to my family Dr. That was over a month ago. I received nothing from him other than him exiting the room. My family Dr has contacted me twice to date and hasn't received anything. My employer has received nothing and my attorney has requested and paid for And nothing to date. Beware!!!
