Dr. Robert Elwood Mallard, MD

Dr. Mallard had been our pediatrician since our son was born. Three more daughters and many years and doctor visits followed. With four children, I would schedule their physicals two at a time. On the morning I was taking my older two, my 13 year old daughter confided to me on the way in, “Please don’t let him be in a room with me alone. I don’t like it when he does tries to do that.” Sure enough, the moment came when Dr. Mallard suggested , “Why don’t you and your son go into the next room, and your daughter and I will stay in here and have a visit with your daughter.” Feeling forced into the situation, I did as the doctor asked. Not too much later, we all got back in the car and as the last door closed, my daughter shouted, “Why did you leave me alone with him?!” When you left, he started asking me weird questions like, “Do you drink alcohol or smoke? Are you sexually active? Are you attracted to boys? Or are you more attracted girls?” Then my 15 year old son was… like, “Oh yeah… he asked weird questions..It was pretty awkward. “ I was very disappointed in Dr. Mallard’s lack of professionalism in failing to notify my husband or me that he planned to talk to my child about these delicate matters. We moved to another doctor after this.

Dr. Mallard said it was okay that i wore my spider-man underwear inside out when I was four, and allowed me to stay on when I was 24 in college. Smart, caring, articulate and genuinely cares about good health.

Hard to imagine a better pediatrician is out there than Dr. Mallard. He has genuine concern for the well being of patients and families.

From birth to 24 years old he was our constant...or I should say our children's constant. Can't imagine anyone better to care for my children. They loved him so much he had to break up with them finally. He will always be an incredible part of our lives, we think of him often and miss his gentle wisdom.

Dr Mallard has been my caring for my children since my first daughter was born almost 21 years ago. He has been with us through regular checkups, the occasional cold, and hospitalizations. He has taken wonderful care of my children, and I highly recomend him.

When you add it all up, we have 55 kid-years worth of experience with Dr. Mallard. Together, we've been through 3 rounds of new baby problems,3 rounds of healthy puberty and independence, 5 or 10 significant injuries, 5 surgeries, a developmental delay, a behavior problem, asthma, anxiety, 4 trips to underdeveloped countries,a terrifying car accident, and dozens of ear infections and sore throats. With the exception of my husband, no one has done more for my children than Dr. Mallard has. He's been a good partner.
