Robert N Pedowitz, DO

Robert N. Pedowitz, DO, FACOFP, FAB, is Vice President, Chief Medical Officer, Occupational Health and Safety at Hackensack Meridian Health. In this role he oversees HMH Works, an all-in-one source for workplace health and safety solutions. Previously, he spent 12 years serving as the Medical Director of Employee and Occupational Health with CentraState Healthcare System, and as the Medical Director for Family Practice of CentraState. Additionally, he worked for 4 years, holding the position of Regional Medical Director for Atlantic Medical Group Monmouth Region (part of Atlantic Health System), where he oversaw clinical operations for numerous primary care and specialty practices. Previously, he also held several other roles as a Medical Director and practicing Family Physician.

Dr. Pedowitz completed his undergraduate degree at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst and his medical degree at Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences, College of Osteopathic Medicine. …He completed his residency in Family Medicine at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey- School of Osteopathic Medicine (now Rowan-Virtua School of Osteopathic Medicine) in Stratford, NJ, where he served as Chief Resident. Dr. Pedowitz has also served as the President of the New Jersey Association of Osteopathic Physicians and Surgeons (NJAOPS) in 2015-2016, and was selected as NJAOPS Physician of the Year in 2019. He is a Fellow of the American College of Osteopathic Physicians (ACOFP) and also a Fellow of the Advisory Board. Dr. Pedowitz also has previously served on the Board of Directors for Atlantic Medical Group, as well as for CentraState Healthcare Partners Physician Hospital Organization, and has held several leadership positions with the AOA, ACOFP, and NJAOPS.

Dr. Pedowitz is Board Certified in Family Medicine and Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine, and has specialty clinical interests in Occupational Medicine, Sports Medicine, Asthma and Allergies, Back Pain, and Preventive Medicine. Residing in Monmouth County, New Jersey, he loves spending time with his wife and their three sons. Dr. Pedowitz also enjoys various outdoor activities, including running, biking, soccer, and basketball.
