Dr. Robert Andrew Salk, DO

Condescending, rude, smug. Told me when I said I have no money, "don't you have savings? You are going to blow through that and co-pays. We will get a team together after my vacation." I hadn't even had a biopsy yet. Later calls and says after I told him I had biopsy" I don't care what Rhode island medical imagings director of radiology, breast wrote down on path report" (she suspects fibriadenoma). He is a monster and will never keep you at ease or calm. I am reporting him to dept of health.

Robert not only looks like a creep, but his mannerism and the way he speaks sends shivers down my spine. Why anyone would want him as a gynecologist blows my mind away. This is the one profession in which a woman should feel absolutely comfortable in the office, male or female physician. He is also judgmental and condescending at times as if it's his business what I do with my body.

Creepily harassed my girlfriend and me and pried into our sex life unprofessionally/not in valid medical ways or for valid medical reasons, didn’t take my symptoms and imaging seriously (had to get diagnosed with endometriosis by IVF specialist months later based on same scans Salk had seen), and made fun of me in patronizing sexist ways for caring about my health enough to make a gyno appointment for follow-up scans of cysts that showed up in imaging from another doctor (when that doctor had advised me to make that appointment). Switched to a new gyno who listened, respected me, and helped me to get real endo treatments and eventually a hysterectomy. Never go to this guy.

Dr. Salk has been amazing, my very first appointment he made me feel welcomed and was well known to my medical history, proving he had read my chart. Great bedside manner.

I went in for being exposed to an STD. He made me feel stupid for the situation I was in and was very condescending. Instead of telling em how to handle it he asked me rudely well what are you going to do now? Then he proceeded to give me rude condescending advice. I ended up crying and he was a total jerk about it. Wouldn't recommend.

My experience with DR. Salk was very unsettling. I called and spoke with the manager about my visit and how bad it was. Dr. Salk entered the room and he instantly started judging me because of my TATTOOS! as if its any of his business... he starts to basically tell me how bad I am going to look when i'm older and how he has NO tattoos on his body... GOOD FOR YOU? Mind your business... Then he asked me if I smoke or drink and when I told him that I smoke medical Marijuana, no cigarettes, he was so rude and was judging me and pressuring me to quit smoking marijuana because... "YOU KNOW THAT'S ADDICTIVE, RIGHT?" ... yeah, that's what he said to me. Not for nothing, but marijuana has gotten me away from ADDICTIVE prescriptions and helped me in more ways than one with back pain, ptsd, migraines, depression, anxiety and more WITHOUT HARMFUL SIDE EFFECTS. and then he had NO IDEA what I was in there for... I was in for a routine pap smear and annual appointment. and the first thing that comes… out of his mouth was "so it doesn't look like you need a pap this time." then I told him that is wrong and he had to double check... very comforting.... He is the most unhelpful doctor I have ever been in contact with and provides very vague answers to questions. He has never made me feel comfortable or well informed. I have switched to a different doctor.

I called the office and was told that there were no available same day appointments. I told them that i needed to be seen right away, so the receptionist talked to Dr.Salk. He told them to book me an appointment for that afternoon. He actually extended his work day to fit me into his already busy schedule! I have never had a doctor care enough about me before to stay late and work after his office hours ended to help me with a medical problem. I recommend Dr.Salk to anyone who wants a doctor who truly cares about you and your health.

dr salk was polite, attentive and caring. Dr salk listened to all of my concerns and addressed each one. I spent more time with Dr Salk then I have with any other gyn that I have seen. In addition to answering all of my concerns Dr Salk offered options with preventive health and wellness. His kind gentle manner was greatly appreciated.

I saw Dr. Salk twice and both times he was extremely rude and condescending. He made me feel incredibly uncomfortable. We talked about birth control and he made me feel like I was unfit to raise a child and it was a necessity without knowing me at all. He is not a nice person.

I have been a patient of Dr. Salks for years - he delivered my daughter Skylar 19 years ago and has performed one surgery and will be performing another one soon on me. He is a very Professional, caring and kind Doctor. He takes time with you and educates you in all that he does. I trust him 100% and would recommend him to anyone!!!!
